It’s too inconsistent and is straight unrewarding. I did 3 pinnacles servitor, override, and gambit this week and got on level gear this is complete and utter bs. Bungie get the hell out of the way of my progression. 3 wasted rewards getting on level garbage. This cannot ever happen this is the worst endgame I’ve ever played anti-player and lazy it’s like that one lazy programmer was just like add an rng script to that. It doesn’t even work.
-
2 RepliesI was thinking the same thing. My base legendaries are dropping at 1312, two pinnacles this week dropped at 1313. I’ve been playing destiny since day 1. Maxing my light level isn’t gonna turn me off from playing.
-
They changed the lvling to this bc people were "lvling too quickly" but imo I never saw a problem with people getting to max light fast. All the grinds happen once you reach cap why do people need to do weekly slot machine activities till they get the 1 out of 8 slots to be able to PLAY THE GAME? I've hated the pinnacle system since it launched I just liked getting to max and sherpaing raids for fun, but now that I have to dedicate half the season to just get to the light to be able to farm the BIS guns. Why is the game not just about farming the BIS guns and -blam!-ing shit up in PVE. Game was a lot more fun during that era imo.
-
It was pointless the minute they introduced it. They said it was to get back to the days of only being able to hit max by raiding/endgame, but then they also brought in the artifact which completely nullifies that. Then they added them to strikes etc.
-
My issue with the whole system is that with bad luck you can end up clearing all of your pinnacles and get 0 gains towards your gearscore, this has happened to me multiple times, it is so annoying when you feel like the time you put in was a complete waste. Its bad enough that every season i have at least one character that is stuck 1 drop away from reaching the max gearscore for several weeks, that should not happen. The game needs a smart loot system so that you are a lot more likely to get the drop in your lowest slot, and prime engrams should work like pinnacles so that you have additional sources for them and you could obtain those by playing the activity you prefer, or just remove the whole pinnacle system.
-
Power level in general need to go. It's a pointless number that only exists to create an annoying grind.
-
Honestly Prime Engrams should be made pinnacles once more. There is no reason for them to not make this change. It gives incentive for players to keep playing and more importantly play what they want.
-
3 RepliesI got five straight primary weapon drop this week!!!
-
Pinnacles Reward System feels archaic at this point.
-
3 RepliesOnce upon a time, I proposed a simple solution. Instead of an actual piece of armor or weapon, have a pinnacle consumable “token” (gem, crystal, doo-dad, thingamajig, whatever). These tokens would be stored like Prime Engrams and be unique to a character. That “token” can them be applied to anything you want, weapon or armor. And people will now chime in and say, “but then I could top-load one weapon to max season level.”. Yeah,...so,...the rest of your gear will suck and your overall light level wouldn’t be any different than if you spread those 10 points across all 8 slots. It’s math. And people will now chime in and say, “but now I can just farm all my alts and share tokens across characters.”. Well, no. Like I said, the tokens would be character-bound in the same way as Engrams, so the worst min-maxing you could do is with weapons. Which actually can be done in the current system. Additionally, your armor would pay the price as it absolutely would have to be done by character. And now people will chime in and say, “but I could just make three characters of the same class and top-load.”. No. Not anymore. Bungie nipped that crap in the bud long ago. Alt characters of the same class won’t get pinnacles if they have already been claimed for that week by another character of the same class. So,...you see the solution is actually fairly simple, easy, and effective without the risk of being over-powered or hyper-abused.

This is why i stopped playing a long time ago. RNG has been terrible for me since forsaken. When my clan were able to do raids easily (even up to a month after its launch) i was still struggling to reach the power level requirements despite me spending about 10+ hours a week on the game. RNG only works in your favour if you brute force the system by dumping nearly all your free time into it. What also doesn't help is the really backwards way the powerful gear system worked (you have to do the activities in a very specific order) which doesn't give you an ounce of flexibility becuase if you go off track thats it...you will hardly be going up any power levels this week.
-
Just let us target pinnacle gear slots. Not a hard request. But remember, it's a hamster wheel, and it's working as intended .
-
4 RepliesThe end point is not their concern..... It's more about how long they can keep you on the hamster wheel. But that said RNG can be a nut crusher.
-
You don’t need to chase pinnacle power at all. Bungie added it for people that like chasing that sort of thing. It’s not supposed to be easy so you get every drop you need no.
-
2 RepliesThey need to get rid of level increase every bl@#$*! season. Only do it with a major expension once a year. There is no reason we need to get to levels in the thousands other than to satisfy bungie's need for people to stay logged in.
-
It doesn’t really maker much. Most of the game can be done 20 under pinnacle cap and the rest isn’t difficult enough to warrant moaning about lvl. If you’re over 1300 then you’re fine, everything above that is just bragging right
-
6 RepliesThe entire leveling system needs a revamp badly. We've been chasing bigger number for so long without any gain whatsoever. Like why can a dreg in Trostland even damage me? We get our big numbers...just to have every activity also increase. So we grind again just to be able to do the activities that we could already do before but can't now. It's not fun. And it's absolutely a waste of time.
-
4 RepliesLL is just to gatekeep content
-
We need a smart pinnacle loot such as different pinnacle activities give different pinnacle gears.. Armor and weapons.
-
Same with the >at level, not +1< on the Gambit pinnacle.. They seem to be replacing each problem with an equally stoooopid play on a weekly basis. It's getting tedious & insulting.
-
Wahhhh 😭😭
-
2 RepliesI have a buddy who is already max light. Dude has hella good rng apparently. He also plays like 12 hours a day. That probably helps. I ain’t about that life. I’m getting further and further detached from this game. Like I just don’t care about being max light anymore. Having a high season rank. Whatever. It doesn’t mean much cuz it all just resets in a couple months. Maybe I’m finally getting burned out. Only took what...6 years? Pretty good run.

Week 2....
-
Yup super lazy, a Bungie tradition.
-
I don't even remember the last time I worried about pinnacles. For me it's like they don't even exist at all.
-
We need smart pinnacle loot. That's the simplest way to put it. "Oh, my pinnacles this week were terrible. I guess I'll have to play next week and hope for better luck." Sure, it's an easy way to perpetuate a grind, but Destiny 2 doesn't have to be this way. It can be better. The only reason to even grind pinnacles is for GM Nightfalls. All you need realistically is a +1 to compete in Trials or IB. For players who log in to Destiny on a weekly basis the "race" to participate in GMs is almost assured. For everyone else who logs in less frequently during a season, it can be a serious grind. If pinnacle loot drops were smart and we had a couple more sources (looking at you DSC) suddenly GMs look a lot more accessible.

....thank you.
