You have admitted it is not living up to “quality” standards so you decided to remove it. Have you thought about maybe... improving it? just one weapon and like a helmet ornament and you have incentive to play it. Doubles was a fun mode and it’s sad it’s gone now.
im gonna be honest I just got tired of seeing negative posts immediately blow up after the twab do I just decided to make one myself even though the twab was really pretty good (besides PC recoil needs)
1 ReplyIt really is the move, anything they can do to increase development time is great, this is also the reason why SRL shouldn’t come back
-
3 RepliesDoubles is my favorite playlist, this really sucks.

Here's the thing. Making Crimson Days into something worth doing is going to take a lot. It isn't really a matter of "just improving it" because so much is wrong. The amount of people engaging in Crucible in anything resembling a meaningful way is declining and the PvP crowd isn't happy with the current state of affairs. Making an event where the main draw is crucible with things the way they are now isn't a smart move. Until Bungie does something with Crucible they should shelve Crucible related events. Slapping a red coat of paint on this thing isn't going to cut it and Bungie knows that.

They changed IB three times since season of the worthy to 'fix' it, but they can't make a worthwhile change to a once a year event that they normally just copy paste, noted, expect less seasonal events going forward.

2 RepliesEdited by RockNotABoulder: 1/29/2021 6:10:27 PMI just want doubles man. Just normal doubles that I can play with my friend. I don't need a power up when he dies. I don't need any stupid cosmetics. Just give us the standard mode.

1 ReplyYou do know the real reason is because of stasis yea or did you forget what happens when you play crimson days in pvp. Every ability recharges twice as fast when you stick next to your mate. So I guess you want to be constantly frozen in place by the ice subclass don’t you. Considering everything I have seen on the forums and how many post I saw about freeze nades and people being sick and tired of being frozen or slowed in pvp that’s the reason crimson days won’t be a thing. Also yes you have to be dense at this point not to admit that the subclass is ice/frost. Every description for the nades or something about the abilities says something about being frozen or freezing your enemies. They just couldn’t call it ice or frost and had to come up with something fancy so stasis. Stasis by the way last time I check is a form or suspended animation aka being frozen. But at the same time so many of you forgot about constant skip nades, swarm nades, double barrier, constant healing and empowering rifts, suppressing nades, and so many more abilities constantly being used against you not to mention whatever builds are out there to reduce cooldown on abilities. So how many of you remember what happens in crimson days pvp.

They could have simply added one good ritual weapon for crimson days which would have been enough improvement.
-
I really liked that event.
-
Personally, If taking away the stupid holiday event would free up dev resources that will produce actual content - I say take 'em all out. I'll take some sweet new content over baking cookies for three weeks.
-
2 RepliesI remember crimson days was just a skip grenade spam fest.
-
I'm sure it will show up in Matter...

1 ReplyEdited by Lull9: 1/29/2021 11:39:43 AMSeems dumb to remove a copy-paste event even if not many played it. If they really had a long-term plan they would've announced that the last one was... the last one... during last year's event rather than at the "last minute" like this. They just make shit up as they go though.

6 RepliesYou ever think that perhaps The Dust Palace is lost to us again? Back in Cabal hands? Word is they've let Psion Flayers out of their cages, to dig around in the Central AI's Cortex. Which means they really want what's buried in there. If Rasputin was protecting it, it's valuable. We've got to flush those Flayers out.
-
2 RepliesI don’t really mind too much. Hopefully they can divvy up the resources in making other seasonal events actually fun to play or just building on the season’s core content. I certainly will miss Crimson Days just because it is a classic but it was definitely (one of, if not) their weakest event and maybe they just need the break from all the seasonal events to strengthen other things.
-
Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 1/29/2021 2:20:38 PMWhat bungo's really saying with that is that with how they're running things they don't have the resources to keep up with seasonal content and these on-off events at the same time.
Not that it seems they'd got the resources to provide any single quality content no matter how much's skinned off the top.
Wow, this rotten corpse of the game loosing body parts faster than I thought. Destiny2 2021 RiP
-
Grenade spam the game mode.
-
Have we not learned yet?!?!?! Thats their MO now. Instead of bringing innovation to things they just remove it.
-
Lazy developers
-
5 RepliesLaziness is not even the right term to describe this. It would have been lazy to keep Crimson Days as it was and change nothing, but it´s downright stupid to remove another unique game mode in times of great content droughts. Whoever makes these decisions needs to be sunset next.
-
3 RepliesCrimson Days aside, this move shows that Bungie would rather abandon content than actually try to improve on it. I can't wait for the day that everyone wakes up and realizes how big of a scam the "content vault" really is.
-
I'm sure they thought about bettering it. Implementing changes, but, that sounds akin to work. Lots of departments spending time and we'll...money. That's something in good faith bungie just can't do. It's all part of bungies' renewed focus- vaulting PvP.
-
It’s pretty reminiscent of Luke smith’s comment about nova warp. The super doesn’t get enough usage, so it should be cut because it’s not “IP defining”. Yeah, people don’t use it because it got nerfed to dust. The problem isn’t the “people” who aren’t using it, the problem is you not buffing it and making it viable, Bungie. Don’t put this on the community. It seems lately that their approach is “if it doesn’t work just remove it” rather than trying to fix or improve it. It really baffles me some of the approaches Bungie takes. Bungie has a gaming community who will literally stand outside of a cave endlessly shooting into it for loot. It’s very obvious what players care about, loot. You can make practically ANY game mode popular if you just rewarded players right.
-
2 Repliesyeah... like the one crucible mode that is actually legitimate fun when all the rest have fallen to shit, and they remove it. Will we at least get doubles?
-
I really think they could have changed the event to be a 2-man strike playlist with a unique weapon and some fancy ornaments/cosmetics, somewhere around legend or master difficulty.
