In the English version, it states that if no finisher is selected as favorites, then the default class finisher will be used. Seems like the translation may be off.

By “default”, are you meaning the white finisher?

Because that’s the finisher anytime you don’t have one(or more) selected as favorite.....regardless if in air or on ground.

I do get it. You said you had none selected as favorite. Thus, it defaults to be the class-specific finisher. If you have something selected as a favorite (but not the class-specific one) & it still does the default one only when in air, then that may be a bug.
