If you are going to grant one class the ability to hover in the air way way beyond the range of titans or hunters with stomp. Then we really need either an expanded FOV or a setting to do this on console. Not an issue on PC because you can a) look up and down extremely fast with M&K and you can adjust for FOV. Have my sensitivity pretty high right now due to warlocks hovering near out of bounds heights.

16 RepliesMan I’m sick of seeing this topic. Do a little research about how taxing an increased FOV is on frame rate. I play in native 4K 30 fps on X1X and you can tell that’s the limit of the console and it’s the most powerful console out right now. PS4 Pro can’t even do native 4K at 30 fps so it’s a no go. Would it be nice to have the option of 1080P/60FPS/increased FOV? Of course, but that’s not what developers opted for this generation. Just gotta wait for PS5 and XSX my friend.

go buy a PC. People watch these PC streamers all night and expect to have the same experience on a 400 dollar console. Actually not even 400 base consoles are like 200 ffs.

FoV won't work on current gen consoles. The game is CPU bottlenecked currently and already suffers from terrible performance. Yes, higher FoV DOES affect your framerate, the more shown on screen, the more that has to be rendered, yes I am right go look at Nvidias performance comparisons on their website. No, the one X and PS4 pro can't do it either, they're still CPU bottlenecked. No, there's nothing that bungie can do. No, it has nothing to do with software. Yes, it should be a feature on next gen consoles.
-
Then buy a PC the current gen consoles cant handle more fov at least without lossing massive frames
-
Hopefully with ps5! 😬

12 RepliesHunters are the problem with FoV. Sure warlocks can stay in the air longer, but hunters can get up in the air faster, and that’s by far what matters.
-
console momst likely woulnt be able to handle the increase in fov
-
Locks don't break FR when they jump hunters do, so it will not be for locks it will be for Hunters, but yeah a FOV will be great.
-
Imagine complaing to Bungie about industry standards for console. Buy PC and join the master race.
-
15 RepliesImagine playing destiny in 3rd person
-
Get PC

I just want to change the color of my crosshair
-
1 ReplyI equip my sword any time not fighting just for that extra FOV.
-
2 RepliesIt would brick ps4
-
I play on 10 sensitivity and I still have a hard time following things when they jump up while close to me.
-
4 RepliesI'm not sure if console has the hardware power for that.
-
1 ReplyAgreed. Certain Supers are difficult to even use because you can barely see where you're aiming (i.e. dawnblade, Throwing hammers, Thundercrash). Game could afford to zoom out more during those moments.

I think adding a FoV slider for console would be as good as adding mm to Raids and bringing Trials back.
Just that much more entertainment in the forums!
-
2 RepliesProbably a technical limitation as you'd need more info on the screen at any given time. That being said, floating is a warlock thing and I dont see anything wrong with it on console. The slower reaction compared to pc affects every console player more or less equally.
-
I noticed on PC fov greatly effects framerate. I believe this is the reason why it is not able to be altered on console.

Edited by alittlesyco: 2/20/2020 6:47:54 PMI am with you it needs an fov because . Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

4 RepliesHigh FOV usually makes me feel nauseous, but I guess some people would want it.
-
1 ReplyYes!!!! Field Of View slider!!!

114 RepliesIt's Bungie and their outdated shit engine. The current hardware (one X) can easily do 60FPS and slightly increased FOV on other games (BFV for example). All the PC virgins are just being stupid. I remember when it was "lol your console will never do 1080p" , then 4k, then 60 FPS and now it's 244 FPS. Well done, your 2 grand PC will out perform a 400 quid xbox, but you can't get a PC with the One X performance for less than 400...

Increasing FoV puts more graphical content on the screen at any given moment. This increases the pressure on the GPU to render more continuously. The immediate effect is a drop in frames per second that can be drawn as the GPU strains to keep up.

i just wish Destiny was 60fps on console☹
