Migration will continue after October 1st, as stated in the TWAB players will be able to manually initiate a migration after 10/1. So say a player has been inactive for the last 8 months on Battle.net, then comes back a week after October 1. They will still be able to migrate their Battle.net content over to Steam at that time. But say before that happens they may have started a Steam character and possibly even bought Silver, then realized they need to link their Battle.net account to have that information migrate over, which then overwrites everything they've done. That is the scenario Bungie is trying to make clear to players.

  • Correct, if you've already linked your Steam account then you should automatically get migrated on October 1st. The manual migration process is intended to be for those players who link their Steam accounts after the Shadowkeep release on October 1.
