I see a lot of people still complaining about Enhancement Cores. Granted, I don't think they should be part of infusion either, but they are, so what can we do about that...
GUNSMITH BOUNTIES.
There's 60 days until Shadowkeep, the next big grindy adventure for us. The Gunsmith offers three daily bounties and two weeklies, per character.
The daily bounties change every day, and are very simple. Get x amount of kills with x type of weapon/element. Extremely rewarding, and should be picked up every day. Each bounty rewards 1 enhancement core and 2 mod components.
The first weekly is based on the flashpoint of the week. Easily paired with the daily bounties on Tuesday, this often requires precision kills on the flashpoint, offering bonus progress in lost sectors or during heroic adventures on that planet. Double dip, while you're double dipping. Start up a daily heroic adventure on the flashpoint, run over to a lost sector, finish your dailies and this weekly very quickly. This weekly rewards 1 enhancement core, 10 of the flashpoint planets mat, and a random weapon mod.
The last weekly is kind of garbage unless you play all activities in the game, if you do play strikes and gambit on the reg though... pick them up for a passive grind throughout the week. This weekly rewards 1 enhancement core, 10 vanguard tokens, a random armor mod, some infamy and valor (no exact numbers on this because I never do this bounty).
From this week on, you can earn 27 easy enhancement cores from the first weekly if you do it on all three characters. Another 27 from the shittier weekly bounty, again, if completed on all three characters.
The dailies, however, are where the real money is. You have time to earn over 500 enhancement cores between now and Shadowkeep. These dailies take on average 5 minutes or less per character, up to 10 if you include all load and travel times, picking up the bounties, etc. So even if we go with the max time here, 30 minutes a day will get you over 500 enhancement cores.
Players in clans also have great incentives to play. Each character that earns 5000 clan XP throughout the week in level 3 or higher clans, will receive 7 enhancement cores a week from Hawthorne. To earn the XP, you can do just about anything, including bounties that give large chunks of XP. More info can be found here. That's just under 200 cores you can snag, just by playing each week for your clan.
So to recap, you're looking at 54 cores from now until shadowkeep for weekly bounties. 540 cores for the daily bounties. 189 for your clan XP. All from 30 minutes (or so) a day. 783 enhancement cores out there for the taking. I infused almost every step of the way this season, even masterworked some gear and spent much less than that. Even if you're a weekend warrior with a limited amount of time, you can still earn somewhere around 300 enhancement cores, playing less than an hour on friday saturday and sunday. These bounties can be completed in essentially any activity you choose.
Do yourself a favor and do your Gunsmith bounties!

3 RepliesGrinding the reckoning is nice for curated duplicates. 7 cores a curated roll. Just to help.

6 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 7/20/2019 5:25:17 PMI won't be surprised if Bungie somehow jacks the cost up to infuse items or finds some other way to slow leveling up making us use some other material and all the farming you're going to be doing for cores is going to be a big joke. I've noticed that I'm close to getting the catalyst for bad Juju and my options are down to using legendary shards or bright dust because I didn't want to spend all day everyday farming material like D1 y1, I did a little farming so I didn't really have to use my shards or bright dust, and I've noticed how Bungie reduced acquiring resources, how convenient for Bungie, just at the right time as Bad Juju drops. But, what I did use in material Bungie left only 2 options, and here comes Cozmo saying "we found a fun way to let you use your material". Well, guess what Bungie? It's not fun only having only 2 options you left and neither of them I want to use. There is always some catch with this company, that they just can't seem to give a brake because streames sit on their a** every day doing nothing but playing video games stacking and Bungie is too lazy to do their job and look at what material is staking and use it like um, cough! Baryon Bough. Not that Bungie didn't have the entire time since Forsaken dropped of feedback about that material because the community never says anything right? No, no people, being dermatic is for a show, so don't get all excited like a highschool girl going on her first date, and say, OoH! Odin is mad 😂 Oh, and for the ones that are going to say you get a discount running the bounties? don't tell me only 1 or 2 knocked off is a deal running 4 bounties a day at the cost for gamers that have an actual job, and don't play this game like streamers or kids that are on summer vacation. Edit: Thank you for the mute option Bungie. It's funny how some haven't figured out I have muted them a while back because they spend their time on this forum wasting their time and everyone else's time never making post, only replies complaining about what others say attacking them. Again Bunge 👍

8 RepliesClan rewards are 7 cores each x4 for a total of 28 per character. X's 3 characters...what's the core issue exactly?
-
14 RepliesAnyone else think that getting ONE core for the weekly bounties is a bit stingy? Get three a day, for shooting your gun in a fps..... but 1 a week for a slightly more grindy bounty? Got to love Bungie logic ☺
-
2 RepliesTL;DR nobody cares, one core for a tidious boring bounty isn't fixing the issue
-
3 RepliesCores are a rip off. They could at least make them drop from match completions in crucibles and strikes. They could also increase their drop rates from dismantling items.

Combined with the (effectively) hoarde mode that is Menagerie, there's no excuse. (Plus there's Tribute Calus' discount missions usually involving Menagerie kills) And for non Annual Pass owners, EP is just as good, if not better in some cases And for people with only the base game, you have the patience of a saint

3 RepliesYep if you do his 3 daily bounties(each day) and the 1 weekly flashpoint bounty, buy 2 cores a day from spider, and in a level 4+ clan and do the clan XP(super easy now) you will get 101 cores a week not including any you get from breaking down legendary weapons and armor across 3 characters.

1 ReplyLmfao! A Bungie employee trying to motivate no life scrubs more??? You clearly don’t understand your client base. Sorry. Rip.

Or just AFK Forge for 60 days since that requires doing nothing. You can usually get around 5-10 cores a day if you run it over night and then a few hours more when you’re at work. That’s anywhere from 300-600 cores before Shadow along with hundreds of legendary shards and extra materials also needed to infusing. You’re literally hindering yourself right now if you don’t do this cheese. I feel like Bungie is going to have to address this somehow.

A little on the long side but a good point, unlike half the people on the forums you sir have a brain.

Excellent recap, thanks for posting! And yes, that last gunsmith bounty is terrible. For only one core? No thanks.

Didn't read, but i agree, saving cores is not that hard and do not require to play that much.

4 RepliesEdited by Chubbums: 7/20/2019 9:07:14 PMYou know after reading a certain interview, i have a feeling cores won't be a problem anymore. And it's all because of the new armor system and the suspicion that it is going to be a chore to upgrade them. People won't bother wasting them if they bring back the old armor experience system from D1. Tedious and unnecessary grind again. Definitely something I am not looking forward to.
-
4 RepliesWhile helpful, even combined with all other sources of cores, still aren't enough. The currency of enhancement cores is misused and convoluted. Enhancement cores were supposed to be a endgame grind. A way to capstone god rolled weapons and armor that rng blessed you with. Then the DA's at Bungie put them in as an infusion cost....... Why? So our characters spend the first 1-2 months of every new season looking like they crawled out of the dumpster behind the Salvation Army Thrift Store? So no one would waste cores masterworking armor? I've never met a single person in game with a Y2 piece of masterworked armor. Another little tarded bit of Bungle logic I can't wrap my head around.

Edited by TJ_Dot: 7/20/2019 8:54:53 PMWhile I'm definitely not looking for more cores. I'm looking for them to have better uses. They still need to get out of infusion. The issue of them having a decent income is different from the issue of them in infusion.

1 ReplyWord, they have the most bang for your buck (or 250 glimmer, whatever the purchase price is). Best bounties around IMHO.
