So what is Luke (not telling the player base?) I know I know, downvoted for actually telling the Truth. Have at it guys 👍
To some, I'm sure this looks like a win. Yeah, I can see how some can get behind the changes as far as how things are set up now, it will be a little better but I also know there is a catch, It may not be through Tess, but this is Bungie, it's just the player base won't know until after they purchase the new DLC.
If this was any other company I would Trust their word. Bungie has literally proven this last 2 years that there is nothing we as gamers won't pay for in one form or another when making changes and that is a fact that has not been a benefit to the player base majority of the time. The question I have is, why is Tess constantly the main focus when it comes to the vendors in this entire game?
What happened to creating a game to where the vendors are used as their intended purpose? I mean, the devs working on D2 in the 21-century people can't grasp that concept for 2 years now that they still don't know as developers how to properly use vendors?
Lastly, because we are changing the cost of pulling things out of the Collections, Eververse items will no longer dismantle into Bright Dust. This Fall, Eververse items will dismantle into Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
I wonder how many gamers actually read that part.
So if Bungie is taking away a few other options to collect bright dust, how much is the cost going up using the shards to pull out of the collection and how much is the cost of bright dust to purchase items going up? I'm also curious why Luke didn't say what other ways gamers will be able to collect bright dust besides only bounties. Is there something to hide from the player base because I find no reason at all to hide something as small as that. I seem to remember when Bungie adding only a couple of other ways to collect cores they upped the cost to masterwork an item basically only doing a (trade-off.) Meaning nothing actually improved with the cores that an illusion was presented that gamers were getting "a good deal".
So, what else is Luke hiding from the player base???

Edited by SouLFeeS: 6/25/2019 7:39:51 PMSuperData Research has Fornite and Division 2 in the top 10 gross earnings for May 2019 on PC and Console. I don’t know where D2 is, but it isn’t top 10, and it’s telling since Fortnite is old and free and Division has been out for a while and had problems with raid on console. I think that’s what Eververse is about.
-
I understand to an extent why they are doing this, but it's leaving a bad taste sorta speak.
-
Yes. And I think they’re doing it backwards . D2 isn’t in a state to maximize any gains from the store. It’s almost like they’re trying to retain the fewest people. I get that the 3% hardcores will spend more, but they’d have to spend more than 20% of their annual income (assuming median) to match what 5 million people would bring at 100 bucks apiece. I don’t get it.

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 6/25/2019 9:20:31 PMWhen Tess was introduced I thought, ok, they are using Tess for future content, helping out the live team, etc... but I soon realized that the RNG that was put in place was a really bad move especially how much money gamers were going to have to spend to get a full set of gear or whatever. It was 100% in Bungie's favor just like Vegas. Then they started jacking up the cost for certain things and I was thinking if they didn't set it all to be RNG and didn't have certain items like to record book that cost $10 that high, maybe more gamers would be willing to buy. People will say things like, well free to play games charge $20 or more for certain things, but blow off the fact that they are free to play games that the micro is used for it's intended purpose. Destiny is this...
Bungie has 2 games going right now and free to play games... Don't sell the bass for $70 and that is not including the collectors addition, etc... if I'm correct there was also bundles that were close to $300 that people did buy. Expansions for $40 4 of them An Annual Pass $40 Boost packs $40 Refer a friend Rockstar, Doritos, etc... Their store Tess that is in both games
So where is all that money going to knowing free to play games don't have a hard time creating content like Bungie said they are.
-
Yeah, plus the game has to be fundamentally fun. If it’s hard, easy or both, it cannot even seem to be a waste of time. They’ve shoehorned a lot of timesink into the game. It’s just too much considering what we paid for to watch the game be overdeveloped on the in-game purchase front while going unrewarded for things that take way too long. I don’t know how many months I was only waiting for a DC ghost to get Cursebreaker before they finally increased RNG from 2 to 20% or whatever. Why? I’m surprised they didn’t just sell the title cosmetics for silver only. OK. That’s not fair, but you see my point.

Edited by Erijian: 6/25/2019 7:05:11 PMThe success of the new system depends entirely on how much bright dust one can accumulate from doing all the available bounties and the mentioned "new avenue" when you're out of bounties. There's no reason for bright dust prices to go up or down if they do it properly.

Agree
-
my god its people like you that make official gaming forums anywhere so cancerous to read
-
Thank you for the bump and have a nice day.

We will find out when we see what all shadowkeep has in store. We still don't know how any of these changes are actually going to work. I do agree with you that everyone acts like OMG bungie is free from activision now everything is going to be amazing! Destiny 1 and destiny 2 were both made under the "control" of activision and the things that are waaaaaay worse now (i.e. crucible) cannot be all blamed on activision...
-
I've noticed every time Bungie makes changes the cost for whatever goes up so it's a legit concern for me among other things because of their actions. Yeah, we will have to wait but I thought I'd bring things up anyways.
-
I'm totally with you with moderate expectations. These fall dlcs tend to be good while the "season pass" contents are anywhere from abysmal to decent. I'm planning on getting shadowkeep and seeing what happens from there...
-
I'm going to wait on that to see how things go. The one thing I'm not liking right now is that this game has become a bounty game. Everything has bounties, I'm like what is this? D1 was never like this to where you are running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Edited by BIGJOE275: 6/25/2019 1:45:52 PMDude Bungie needs money because they left Activision. Without it they can't I mean content is hard to make. So they have to prioritize eververse to fill in there stream of funds. So have a heart and just give them your money. Because without it Destiny 3 can't get made.

Let's look at this vs actual free to play games that have no problem creating content. See, Bungie has 2 games going right now and free to play games... Hmm, funny how some don't like reading the truth.

Zzzzzzzzzz

If you dislike this company and it's game so much, then don't play it anymore, sell Destiny 2 and then piss off.

Is this reply to me???

No, it's for Odin

Edited by ghostx78x: 6/22/2019 7:40:09 PMPretty obvious they are planning to deplete our bright dust reserves we have from dismantling things- this will force more players into buying silver for Eververse items. If you think the posts complaining about Eververse have been bad in the past, one year from now the forums will be on fire when the bright dust finally runs out.

This ^^^^^^

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 6/22/2019 11:54:05 PMYep, but throwing the extra little thing in to try to throw everyone off as if they're getting a "good deal" I was trying to an extent to look at this in a positive way, but how can anyone when Bungie is toying with the player base this way. It's why I made this thread.
-
I do not understand why Bungie feels the need to add, but then take away. It’s counterproductive, and that’s only part of the problem. When I was told of Eververse changes, I was only told about the transmog ornament part. Obviously, I knew there’s more to these “announcements”. We are rapidly losing the ability to earn without paying (something that I will continue to do no matter the struggle). Why are they removing the dual purpose of bright dust to use in collections, yet not removing cores from infusion (masterwork only IMO). Seasonal engrams are gonna be the big indicator, as they were a reason why the base D2 Eververse was a scam. They introduced the matrix, just to get rid of it about a year later. The store slowly added exclusive bundles, then went mostly silver bundles, best of year 1 engrams only and now we’re losing a major way to earn bright dust. Do some people think adding a core to gunsmith bounties solved the core problem? Yep Do some people like the idea of not getting brightdust from Eververse items? I guess so too I’m not wasting my time in activities for a measly 100BD per bounty, I’ve got other things to do (titles, a worthy cosmetic). It’s such a shame people buy into this, literally
-
They also removed the matrix last time making things less accessible. When you look at how many bounties one can run a day it's not much knowing the bounties take up a person's time running things they really don't want to or need to. Turning this entire game into a bounty thing was a huge mistake because it adds no value to the game at all.
