They just never learn, do they? Forget the fact most people didn't like the artificial longevity of other time gated content before, let's do it again...
It's true.. after you do stage 1 of the Quest you are now forced to wait an amount of time for the next stage... we got literally 2 min of content which wasn't content any different than what was already in the game, just pick up 10 drops. I think many of us were under the impression this quest would be more of a uh... story quest...
I am not here moaning about not having rewards right away - I'm disappointed because I thought me and my friend would have a QUEST to do together... what we got instead was a glorified, timegated Patrol.

Well, I dont mind that his quest is timegated. However I want my box of raisins & piece of celery back since the whole Destroying of vault thing. I need them back please.

24 RepliesFor anyone complaining about all the complaining, I finished the quest step in about 4 minutes in a heroic public event. The pages were dropping like crazy. And now it's a 1 week wait till the next step. It's just redundant, bad designing. It's not about entitlement, bungie knows everyone hates time gates, they know people are getting content-hungry (i have 3 lvl 600's and literally no other reason to log in except to raid with the clan and "new questlines") and there are plenty of other distractions out there. I played just long enough today to get the quest step, and now I'll go back to Red Dead 2 until next week, and imagine a lot of other players are going to do the same. We all want something fresh, and we're not going to get it from Bungie again for a while.

15 RepliesAmanda: "One thing Cayde taught me is we can't let the trail go cold" Game: OK, that's all you can do this week, see ya!

There’s other shit to worry about in the game than whether or not the thunderlord quest is time gated and, wait why am I replying to this post again?

13 RepliesEdited by sillly: 11/1/2018 3:32:44 AMPeople still play this game?

7 RepliesEdited by Locker: 11/1/2018 4:10:34 PMWhat’s wrong with timegating the quest? They’ve been doing this since d1. It gives you something to look forward too each week. Who knows what the next step is and it could be good . Let’s wait it out and judge when it’s all said and done . Now don’t get me wrong I was too a bit upset that I couldn’t get my hands on a shiny old thunderlord but ehh it will work out in the end .

Edited by _askmeu_: 11/2/2018 3:34:49 AMThree weeks .... Three....... Weeks....... Bungie what are you thinking...
-
2 RepliesYeah a time gate on an activity that only takes 5 minutes to do was underwhelming lackluster thanks this is what we have to look forwards to boring content that was recycled yup still losing my trust in you bungie
-
1 ReplyI find it amusing that so many are hyped for another D1 weapon to come back. Shocked that its time gated? Really? Heres whats going to happen.... Bungie brings back thunderlord. It ships with a “Bug”. Gets the almighty nerf. Guardians place the thunderlord into vault to collect dust. But hey they kept you going for another 6weeks waiting for it.

4 RepliesCommunity on week 2: "There's nothing to do, I just did everything the game has to offer and now I'm booooorreed" Community on week 22: "I'm still here and the only reason that could be is due to scummy tactics in order to keep me here against my will"

5 RepliesMeanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 just launched. Nice answer to that Bungie. Pathetic.

Edited by nonchalantone: 11/1/2018 8:09:06 PMI'd be messed up if the thunderlord was locked behind Black Armory.....lmao!! Step 3 anyway! After completing first two weeks, man that would be hilarious! Giving 600 horror story auto rifle to push guardians up as far as levels in preparation for the new DLC. All a marketing ploy that's working.

Ok I might have previously commented on this thread but even so. I'm fairly alright with the quest being time gated. My only issue would be if I weren't able to continue it if I missed a week... I'm gonna be away from console for almost 2 weeks from tomorrow so I'm hoping that when I get back, I won't have to wait a week at a time to continue it or worry that it'll have ended by then and I won't be able to finish it...
-
What quest or patrol? Just open anagrams, fml that's not even a challenge... Seriously... You want me to refer a friend, fno....
-
I was hoping it would be a daily reset thing so that Halloween could make us find Ives and the following days would be hunting his killer's.
-
If I was a betting man I’d say the quest will lead us up to the Black Armory. If we get to finish it sooner, great.

15 RepliesYea its time gated! SO THE F*** WHAT. Go outside, kicks some rocks! You impatient brats are so damn funny. I cant have it now... im gonna throw a fit like a 4 year old... Haha!!! Grow the F*** up. Good things come in time. But impatience makes you look like a child. BOOOHOO, NOBODY GIVES A FLYING F*** cause you cant handle waiting. Go read a book!!!

What I find off is that Master Ives was part of the cryptarchy. So Amanda Holliday decided to reach out to her contacts to decrypt a cryptarchs journal. It's almost like there are no other cryptarchs in the game that would know the language he wrote in. Why would she ask her contacts and not Master Rahool or Trya Karn. I mean they know every language there is to know and they are code breakers.

Took one min to complete the quest step lol

9 RepliesEdited by Talia Sendua: 10/30/2018 8:01:33 PMStop crying, that's how online games game design works. WoW does this, Destiny does this. If you don't want such quest, play singleplayer games.

It’s to let us do something different until Machine guns drop
-
I’m just happy we’re getting heavy machine guns back.

1 ReplyTime is irrelevant in a video game. The real question will be how bad thunderlord will suck? I'm betting it will be another useless exotic that has been tweaked till broken.
-
4 RepliesIts a murder investigation, what did you expect? Something from like Law and Order or CSI?
-
1 ReplyThe reason Bungie timegates quests is so they can have new content for the next week. They are trying to give us stuff to do until black armory
-
2 RepliesPeople wanted more content they wanted more reason to play and they're getting it. I could be wrong but from the sounds of it this Quest is going to lead up till about the time black Armory supposed to drop which is when heavy machine guns are coming back maybe it's the help hype that maybe it's to give us a week with a heavy machine gun before they add more to the game I don't know but to be honest I don't think it's a big deal I don't remember people complaining the thing of her time gated it would be nice if the quest up was a little bit more than just kill a bunch of yellow bars and by the way for people that haven't done it yet you don't have to do it on the 8th easy you can do it anywhere I got the pages and Gambit and the Tangled Shore and in a dreaming City
