If you keep getting killed by shotguns, you should maybe try to use a counter to shotguns, like sidearms, SMGs, and fusions. There is a way to counter every weapon type in the game, change the way you play, you can't just run around doing the same thing and expect better results.

That only works at extended ranges. Several shotguns currently have far too much range and can kill in one or two shots at those absurd ranges, a sidearm or SMG will not win that fight. Only another shotgun will, and that's what I do because I have to. I try to avoid tight areas where I won't even have to come across this nonsense but you can't hide forever. The issue stems from moving them from power weapons to special weapons in the energy and kinetic slots so now everyone is running around with overpowered weapons albeit with limited ammo.

Use your radar. Don't let people get close. It really isn't that hard. There are shotguns everywhere in crucible, but I have run a bow and hand cannon and done just as well as when I run a shotgun. This game needs some weapons that feel a little OP, especially when you get two shots. If you want to go back to the way D2 was before the loadout change and just have pea-shooters that create nothing but a teamshooting strategy, that's cool, but I don't want to go back to that. It sucked. This game is so much more fun when you actually have a shot at running into a 1 on 3 situation and winning. Before the updated loadouts, if you were alone and ran into 2 enemies you were toast.

At no point did I state I want to go back to the previous loadout settings. There is an issue with shotguns and just because you and others like it doesn't mean it's a problem. I guarantee you something will happen sooner or later. But the more of us speak up now the sooner those much needed changes will come. I know how to use my radar, I know how to play the game. PvP is in a bad state with how OP shotguns are, I have plenty of great games but I can still see the issues with the current form of Crucible.

Remember in D1 when they nerfed shotguns because they were the meta? Everyone started running with sidearms. There will always be a meta weapon type that the majority of people run because it is easier, but that doesn't mean that it's necessarily the most effective way to play. People run shotguns because they are effective at close ranges and it's easier to hit shots when people are close. Because of that, lower skill players can compete at close ranges with higher skill players. That is why you see so many shotguns. The scout rifle buff should help give more options, but scouts could still probably use a little more juice, but if they give them too much of a buff, it will be back to nothing but MIDAs.
