In-game text chat for D2 on consoles?
Text chat would undoubtedly be a really helpful tool in getting Fireteams together w/o the need to access external sites.
My only question: [b]Is it possible to have in-game text chat for Destiny 2 on consoles? If not, why?[/b]

2 RepliesIts possible but would be a huge UI headache for Bungie. It is kinda pointless to a degree or a least how often will people use it for its intended purpose? The games cleaner without text chat IMO, games like DCUO and other MMO’s with social areas that have chat can get frustrating to constantly see. Writing in all caps, spamming posts and the arguments kids have in a public chat. It’s just all a bit messy. It will probably be used mostly to just ‘chat’ and troll. Not many people really want to see that kinda thing in a Destiny social area. For Xbox, the LFG system is fine for Destiny. You usually get players within 5 mins or so. I don’t really think Destiny needs an option to text chat in open social areas.

I am on PC, and no, you do not nedd it. It's a cool feature but nobody else reads it or uses it.

Edited by Hagalaz-27: 5/6/2018 2:34:06 PMIf they do it, i hope they give us the option to use it with a keyboard so that, if need be, we can stop typing mid-sentence and maneuver our character with the controller. Nothing worse than having a text chat input screen pop up and block the entire screen. Just give us a little PC-style overlay in the lower right corner, where nothing's going on.
