I have almost reached that point. Didn't get everything unlocked in the first faction week, and haven't got all the IB ornaments yet. But I have full prestige and eow gear on everybody, all the exotics, masterworked nearly every weapon I use regularly. I still play, for now, because I really enjoy the feel of the engine and the shooting mechanics. I just enjoy it. I was also the kind of toolbag to just go HAM in Archon's Forge for, like, hours, for the sheer joy of it. I pre-date looter-shooters. When I was young, they were just shooters, and yet I played them over and over just for funsies. I don't really comprehend the need for players to be rewarded for things. The rewards of Quake, Half-Life and Halo:CE were just... having fun shooting stuff. EDIT: when looter-shooters did come out, the first one I played was Borderlands, and I was like, this is cool, but also, I just didn't like the way the engine felt. Same with B2 - it just doesn't feel right.
