Seriously just GTFO. Just because someone is better than you does not mean whatever you got killed by is a crutch. Because if someone is beating you, chances are they could beat you no matter what weapon they used, SO STOP CRYING AND GET GOOD.

You GTFO. The entire power weapon slot as a whole is a crutch. One shot weapons obtainable by one player at a time? Really? I will wait here until the end of time for you to give me a method for consistently avoiding rockets from players with thumbs. Insult to injury: now people can farm ammo by killing others who have just picked it up. No other weapons can kill as fast and giving power to one player at a time is a joke. Cannot wait for September. . Everyone having ‘power’ weapons will yield good times for all. That was what made D1 Worth a shit.

Says get good in a bullshit game that has even worse PvP lol Silly children with their illusions of "skill",

Yeah I Fully Agree, I make a point of using Weapons NOT often used in Crucible, because I admire the level of skill it actually takes to kill with these Weapons. I always look out for what owns my ass in Crucible, im not the best player but I like changing up my gear and seeing what works. I have found an alternative and fun weapon set for every map - other than the usual Suspects. I understand that there are people that take it way to serious, and there are people that are extremely competitive. but in the end, crucible is meant to be fun. and regardless of what you get shot with, and what you get killed with, there will always be a banana claiming that those weapon types are totally OP because you play to aggressively, or you choose the wrong weapon set for the wrong encounter. or... you choose to go Uriel vs Uriel where you have 3 bullets in your mag left. and your opponent just used the reload dodge. (I use this example, because, I... use to make this mistake a lot) there are no crutch weapons, just players who need crutches for choosing the wrong tactic in certain encounters. get to know your map, and choose your Load Out carefully, you cant go Antiope D on a long range map and wonder why the hell your ass gets owned by a scout rifle.

8 RepliesIf you can't do well without using meta weapons, they are a crutch, extra support for a lacking ability. Does this mean that everyone that uses meta is crutching? No. Example, alot of people in D1 would crutch on a shotty or sniper the whole match, once bungie nerfed special ammo drops, the ones who were crutching complained, those who used diversity just adapted without complaint. This is the difference between crutching and simply using the meta.

2 RepliesI made a post about this back in D1 about how you're getting out-played. It was not well received because people can't handle the truth.
-
11 RepliesAccusing people of using a "crutch" weapon is a "crutch" argument constructed by those with fragile egos and no personal accountability.
-
I agree with you. I never really understood the whole "Crutch" weapon thing, especially when we all have access to the same weapons and even further puzzling my obviously simple mind, Destiny 2 has fixed perks so all guns are the same... Just because someone uses Mida, Palindrome, Uriels Gift, etc. how does that really expand their skill??? I just figure your better with handcannons than pulses, scouts than AR's. Maybe I'm just missing the mark here? A crutch to me though would be Sunsinger perk equipped Fireborn... But even then if the perk is there to be used why not use it and I would think that it would be more of an Ace up the Sleeve than a Crutch?

Introducing...the Scrub The derogatory term “scrub” means several different things. One definition is someone (especially a game player) who is not good at something (especially a game). By this definition, we all start out as scrubs, and there is certainly no shame in that. I mean the term differently, though. A scrub is a player who is handicapped by self-imposed rules that the game knows nothing about. A scrub does not play to win. Now, everyone begins as a poor player—it takes time to learn a game to get to a point where you know what you’re doing. There is the mistaken notion, though, that by merely continuing to play or “learn” the game, one can become a top player. In reality, the “scrub” has many more mental obstacles to overcome than anything actually going on during the game. The scrub has lost the game even before it starts. He’s lost the game even before deciding which game to play. His problem? He does not play to win. The scrub would take great issue with this statement for he usually believes that he is playing to win, but he is bound up by an intricate construct of fictitious rules that prevents him from ever truly competing. These made-up rules vary from game to game, of course, but their character remains constant. A common call of the scrub is to cry that the kind of play in which one tries to win at all costs is “boring” or “not fun.” Who knows what objective the scrub has, but we know his objective is not truly to win. Yours is. Your objective is good and right and true, and let no one tell you otherwise. You have the power to dispatch those who would tell you otherwise, anyway. Simply beat them. Let’s consider two groups of players: a group of good players and a group of scrubs. The scrubs will play “for fun” and not explore the extremities of the game. They won’t find the most effective tactics and abuse them mercilessly. The good players will. The good players will find incredibly overpowering tactics and patterns. As they play the game more, they’ll be forced to find counters to those tactics. The vast majority of tactics that at first appear unbeatable end up having counters, though they are often quite subtle and difficult to discover. Knowing the counter tactic prevents the other player from using his tactic, but he can then use a counter to your counter. You are now afraid to use your counter and the opponent can go back to sneaking in the original overpowering tactic. This concept will be covered in much more detail later. The good players are reaching higher and higher levels of play. They found the “cheap stuff” and abused it. They know how to stop the cheap stuff. They know how to stop the other guy from stopping it so they can keep doing it. And as is quite common in competitive games, many new tactics will later be discovered that make the original cheap tactic look wholesome and fair. There are kids who will endlessly complain for no reason other then they think they should go into a game with the expectation of just winning. There are factors to why: People think they can play the same way every game; you cant. People think you should cruise through every game; you wont. People think that all players should play according to their expectation; they wont. Honestly, the only thing that comes from scrub mentality is a more toxic community; which breeds people who do nothing but complain about people who complain... You've become no better then the people you're complaining about

People accuse others of cheating or being bad and it's always not effective strategy.

6 RepliesPvP would be better with fixed load outs. Everyone using the same guns but with different skins so they don’t look the same. Don’t argue. You have 3 toons with the exact same guns.
-
16 RepliesBad players use crutch weapons, that is the very definition. Auto rifles, mida tool etc are not crutch weapons, you need to do more research on the definition. a crutch weapon is when you can't shoot a gun so you run around to all the heavy and kill with a rocket launcher at 5 feet away. where is the skill in that ?
-
1 ReplyThere are about 7 good PVP weapons in D2. No, I don't think I will be using any none meta weapons; so I can be Bukkakeed in the face by a 13 year old with an Uriel's Gift. No. No thank you.

"Crutch" is just a word folks use to trigger other people when they were outplayed and can't come up with anything better to say. In fact, "Crutch" is apart of the reason Destiny 2's Crucible is boring compared to it's predecessor. "Crutch" really translates to "good"... ...and you know this place, if it's good and/or fun, by god it better get nerfed all the way to Hells gates to keep the fun police's paychecks rolling in.
-
Yeah, got my first hate message over xbox live in a few years the other day by someone I killed a few times with a rocket launcher - pretty sad really that they took the time to send it after the game.

Edited by Mandalorian16_1: 1/27/2018 1:36:05 PMHmm, let's see, the mida is kind of a crutch to some people (I don't use it) and skill has no bearing on it. Shotguns are currently trash (for the most part) so they're not crutchs. Handcanons, I've seen some perty good ones but they're aren't enough of them to be called crutch worthy. Snipers actually take some skill to use because they aren't much better than shotguns, so no crutch there. Rocket launchers in the other hand, there are to few actually bad ones in the game, so yea the cast majority are within the crutch range. I never encountered many fusion rifles in the crucible, of those i did encounter, merciless was the only good one I saw. Last but not least, crutch grenades, when I read that the only thing that comes to mind is pulse grenades, there is nothing more to say about grenades apart from that every other one is weak and ineffective in comparison. I'm not a trash player, unless of course never running the meta makes me one(in which case I will take pride in being called trash). I have prided myself on working for and achieving one of the highest efficiency ratings in every match that the opposing team was anything less than the most absolute steamroller, even in a lost match I would accept nothing less than such, if one was to chalk the loss up to me being bad, said being would be incorrect. Losses on my record reflect a stupidly poor team or equally good if not better opposing team ( which I try to see them as) not a lack of skill on my part.

18 RepliesEdited by MrGunslinga: 1/26/2018 1:10:38 AMThere are no crutch shotguns, handcannons, snipers, fusion rifles, grenades or swords but there is crutch scout rifles, assault rifles, sub machine guns, rocket launchers and sidearms. And they are Mida (with or without teamshot), Uriel's gift, Positive outlook, last hope, antiope and sins of the past hence why that's what nearly everyone uses. As for classes the hunter tether gemini jester characters are the crutch in crucible hence why you come up against full teams of them all the time. You don't come up against teams just full of titans all day in trials. Exactly what game have you been playing since September?

8 RepliesUnless you're talking about the Colony, in which case it's kinda true. Avoidable, but still true.

Get gud scrub.

Not sure what your reasoning is. Most of the weapons are similar; equally bland and boring. It’s all about team shooting. Doesn’t matter about the weapon.

I don’t care what gun you or anyone uses. Objectively speaking people could crutch almost any load out if they use that particular gun, class or strat, ALL THE TIME. This is a game full of different load outs to explore, and if you sit there whining that the game is thin on content, while you are literally scared to move off of Mida/Uriel’s Gift in fear than you don’t have an edge, I have zero respect or sympathy for you. The is no greater joy in this game that exceeds shitting on kids with non-Meta weapons. None. As a player, the only metrics I care about is proficiency in every weapon, class, and build. This way I am completely prepared for every situation. I could care less how everyone else is playing, outside of the basic knowledge of what I’m up against(weapon/class etc.) so that I can counter it.
