Now this could easily be written off as a common video game trope, in which game characters seem to never need sleep or food or water (survival games are an exception.) I've noticed that you never see Guardians eating or sleeping, and that got me thinking: do they even need sleep, since they're just resurrected dead people? And if they do, then where do they sleep? I know we haven't seen the entirety of the Tower or Last City, so is there somewhere that Guardians have rooms? Do they sleep in military-style quarters? Maybe they need sleep and food and such but can survive without those longer than regular people?

2 RepliesIf you read any lore on Exos then you should have come across one about a tower that every Exo sees in their dreams

Only at work.

Edited by HollowedWayfarer: 1/8/2018 6:22:23 PMSleep? Yes (Hunters suffer the sleep disorder insomnia) Eat? Yes (Cayde's ramen obsession) Drink? Yes (Vanguard class item lore is of the Guardian and Vanguard at a bar drinking)

Yes they do the moment you stop playing this game....;)

They do at work.

5 RepliesI asked my self that question back in 2014. I wondered where they went when they weren’t out kicking ass. I had always hoped that Bungie would create a “Skyrim HearthFire” style dlc for Destiny. My take on it would’ve been where we would get mats from speeders, ships, shaders and when added to the other gear we possessed would be able to create our own ships where we would live while “on duty” and then we’d have the option to buy some form of “home base” on Earth or the other planets. It would’ve been similar in creation where you get so many options of customization and once you build you’re done. You get three chances to figure out what you like, if you have 3 characters 😉 You could earn loot to rebuild your home through gameplay maybe some kinda reward for clearing content. We’d also be able to customize speeders so I figured Amanda would be the perfect person to be that go to NPC. Her and the handy Eva could team up and do something for the guardians while lining the pockets of the city and vanguard.

They need food as expressed by Cayde in a few lines but the warlock ego talon bond says that gaurdians don’t need sleep. But lore says gaurdians do have rooms probably for a storage and personal space

Good question. I always thought it would be nice if your characters apartment/house or any guardian apartment/house is visitable in D2.
-
Guardians are essentially space zombies. They must therefore eat BRAAAAAAINS...
-
ego talon bond says guardians don't need sleep
-
Mine doesn't. He's a robot.
-
Well... I do sleep, eat and drink. Every.single.day. I believe other guardians do it also.
-
I think when, or even if, human function starts to get needy you would just find an easy way to die and resurrect. When you die, you come back at full health. Wouldn’t be too much of a jump in logic to think all your human needs are fixed as well
-
You forgot to ask where/when they pee & poo. Maybe the armor has waste recycling systems. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Well seeing as they are an extension of us in game, I'd say yes.

1 ReplyYa see, when ur lovely human or awoken gurdian gets hungry, tired, ect. they just grab a nice shiny hand cannon and saldy blow their brains out. (that or jump off the tower)
-
1 Replysleep when game is off....eats plenty of salt....drinks tears of doing the same shit that caused them to be salty

1 ReplyEdited by Eye B Bangin: 1/6/2018 7:56:00 AMIkora has an apartment near her location. a scan-able sits on her balcony. Cayde likes spicy ramen from a certain shop in the city (meaning after he became exo and rezzed), so they do eat. Also was drinking in a bar in the launch trailer. Meditation could be their "sleep".

Edited by FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE: 1/7/2018 5:47:23 PMMaybe standing around idly like machines is us sleeping. Maybe us t-baging things is us eating and drinking.

Of course they sleep. There is a piece of lore that says almost all hunters suffer insomnia and sleep even less than exos.
-
I’d imagine that they could, but they don’t need to. If a ghost can resurrect you and cure other ailments, who’s to say that a ghost couldn’t heal hunger in a guardian?
-
1 ReplySince Guardians are actually alive and not just walking corpses, they should need food and sleep (aside from Exos, who were built to not need any of that but still can if they want), BUT thanks to Ghost restoration they definitely don’t have to have any of that since their bodies can be instantaneously rejuvenated. I’m not sure about using the bathroom though; physical restoration wouldn’t get rid of food wastes so Guardians probably have to deal with the fact that when they eat they need to dispel it just like everyone else
