WAY TOO MANY LEGENDARY SHARDS!!!!!!!!!
As of this point I have 2215 Legendary shards. My characters are maxed minus a few random exotics I haven't found yet and I have nothing else to do. I literally have around 400 weapon materials at this point, 2200 legendary shards and 3,000 bright dust of which I earned but haven't spent much of. Not for lack of trying. There has got to be something meaningful I can do with all this crap in my inventory. I'm not complaining about the game. Only that I'm either really good at grinding or you literally have nothing for me to spend my currency on. PS I've been at max glimmer the whole time since launch.

Keep saving when you get to 10’000 you will get a “friend of shard” emblem,at 100,000 you will get a “shard hugger” emote. ;-)

I have like 34. I stay at a floor of 30 to make sure I can buy something from xur that I like because I have so many other things to do family friends my wife job kids bills chores and other responsibilities. I only wish I hade that many shards. The loot in D2 has already been so much better for me than D1. I get double exotics and legs but I'm getting them. I'll take over a legend decrypting to blue. Some people have all the exotics already. I'll never get them all. I don't have the RNG or the time. Enjoy what you have. Play another game and come back!

There's nothing meaningful you can do with anything in your D2 inventory. All of it is just imaginary clothes and accessories for your Space Barbie. Play any loot based game enough and you'll end up stacking up a lot if some resource. Bright dust is easy to spend on rep boosters which helps early on but eventually all that gives you is more shards. Glimmer can be used to buy more shards (thru dismantling mods). Just think of your stack of shards as the overall score indicator for how much you have played the game for no useful in game reward.

Just save it all, you never know what they might do with shards in the future.

Is your vault completely full with everything in it 300+? If not then you have use for those shards. It's why I rarely have more than 3 or 4 LS.

I would suggest saving them until at least november. They do have ironic spammer coming up and who knows they might be useful for something in there. Failing that they might have a live event for halloween as this event only gets us midway to October 31. If they remain meaningless for all that time you might as well buy a bunch of exotics, then break them back down for weapon parts for Banshee.

3 RepliesDefinitely save them, judging from D1 over the years you never know whether or not you'll get to use them. And I have a feeling you'll see some dramatic changes in the near future with this game.

They work like ammo synths basically, and once you spawn it you lose it. It replaces your sparrow summon and simply takes that slot up until it is used. This way it is harder to break the game by summoning things that you shouldn't be able to lol. So you could spawn a drake tank, or some sort of pike. Maybe an interceptor also, would be a nice currency sink and spice the game up some. Oh also turrets, not sure where they went but that also.
