All the old ones are excellent choices. Halo 4 has a decent campaign, but shit multiplayer. Halo 5 has an awful campaign, but decent multiplayer.
-
Anything but 5, really. ODST was my favorite campaign, mainly because it featured a good chunk of the main cast of Firefly.
-
2 RepliesCE is the best 2 was a major disappointment 3 was good ODST was good Reach was good 4 was okay 5 I refuse to play along with each subsequent game from now on. 343 ruined my childhood
-
Just buy them all and decide what you like from there.
-
Halo CE if you like that old school style of games
-
5 RepliesFrom a narrative perspective, here's my list:
Halo CE: Good Halo 2: Amazing Halo 3: Pretty good Halo 4: Absolute garbage Halo 5: Bad Halo Reach: Okay, but not as good as the original trilogy

These are the only ones I've played
-
HALO -blam!-ING THREE and 2, 2 is really -blam!-ing good too.
-
3 RepliesAny one but 4 and 5
-
Edited by GhostCreeper99: 8/17/2017 1:16:42 AM3 or Reach. The one you pick will most likely be you're favourite.
-
Halo 3
-
Halo: Combat Evolved if you ask me so far. I still have to get to 4 and 5 though.
-
7 RepliesHalo 5 for MP. Halo 4 for story.
-
Reach
-
Halo: Reach
-
3 RepliesJust buy MCC and have content to play for the next 5 years. Finish all campaign playlists, get all achievements and if you're done before 2021 I will eat my Xbox One.
-
I started a 2 but reach was the bomb it rocked halo in any other way. Damn that recon armour I never got. Or my xbox live that was broken and my levelling system was broken 42 xp per match
-
The one I started out with was 3, so I have to say that one because nostalgia.
-
I personally enjoyed them all
-
Edited by djtanng: 8/15/2017 10:14:24 PMBungie Halo's first, but play them all. EDIT: Halo Reach has the most content of any single Halo game, but it also has the weakest campaign. It's also Bungie's last Halo, so it's the most fine tuned as far as gameplay, customization, and game modes go. Halo 3 gives the best Halo feels though and it's the one that turned Bungie into rock stars.
-
Halo: CE If you get anniversary edition play the game on the original graphics, specifically the missions 343 guilty spark and the library
-
Reach is pretty terrible in all aspects, except custom games. Halo 4 has a good campaign but a crap multiplayer. Halo 5 has a crap campaign but a good multiplayer. The rest are great.
-
2 RepliesRealistically all of them do some things well. If you want to play them all, I recommend getting the Master Chief Collection to start. After that you can decide if you want Halo REACH or Halo 5. If you want my personal favorites, check the spoiler.
My personal favorites are Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST. In my opinion, ODST had the best campaign of any first person shooter, but that may just be me. If you do get the MCC, ODST is only $5 extra.
-
MCC has the most content from what i've seen.
-
Buy the master chief collection it has all the halos except 5 and reach but it is still cool for a good price

Edited by Chicken in Rice: 8/18/2017 6:19:40 AMIf you want the original Halos (which are better in the my opinion and many others) then you'll want Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo Reach.

Halo wars 1 and 2. 343 didn't have a huge hand in either. Story is good, can be followed. Mp is fun, though sweaty. AI is annoying as balls! Basically a new player with advantages and youtube! All halo wars 2. The first is different in regards to ai. Smart and not sweaty.
