The cinematics and story telling (vehicles and drop ships)
The story and pve aspects already look more engaging that destiny 1. We already get to see that npc's will be mpre a part of the gameplay. That guy with the sniper in widow's court seemed very accurate with the long rifle, i wonder how often hes been flawless.
Theres a sense of engagment that im seeing. The cabal are brutal, you feel like a hero, and your allies are present (not just your homie who decided to screw around with you)
There is even more emphasis on vehicles. I saw a classic abrams style tank section on one of the missions, which really looks freaking awesome. I wonder what other vehicles we can use. It appears drop ships are actually going to be giving us trouble now, they where seen being shot down in the reveal. Who knows, maybe we can do some flying ourselves.
They clearly upped their game in pve sandbox and story telling
Im interested to see how raids and strikes have now incorporated these aspects
The new guardian classes and their 3rd charge
We havent seen all of them (i did see a throwing knife as well as a bull rushing arc titan, gunslinger and striker could have returned) but A+ job reworking the classes! (At least from what i saw). What we do know is that the vanguard where still able to use the classic sublasses in the first mission.
However It appears that the subclasses supers will be changed to roaming supers (flipping spear hunter, fireball throwing sword warlock, and captain america titans) instead of a (panic, bubble, res, etc). Along with the typical grenade and strength charge, they added a 3rd ability to the classes that are reminiscent to the old classes but not quite supers. The defender/sentinal can still drop a bubble but it didint look like it lasted very long, the sunsinger/dawnblade dropped what looked like a healing ward. The bladedancer/arcstrider didn't seem to use any 3rd ability in the trailer, but they didn't appear to throw the spear either. If hunters are a show off class now, that can be bad.
Taking all this in, it really seems like every class can now super in, run around, and do damage with a roaming super, as well as have a powerful 3rd ability that helps the team out with defense, healing, maybe damage boost/mini tether for the hunter? This is great news for pve and really brings elements into the game that make each class seem much more diverse yet capable of killing.
Great job so far! Cant wait to see what else the classes have
The new weapon slots. Pvp and pve
Im not exactly understanding how they changed these aspects, but they definitely have scraped the primary secondary system. It appears as if they have gone all in with the halo route and turned special weapons into power weapons. This is absolutely terrible news for pvp. We dont know what ammo system they will use now. The recent changes are most likely a effort to see how specials could be incorporated under a power weapon ammo economy. Its already proving to show absolutely minimal diversity and only passive play. This is extremely defeating.
Looks like the ammo system isint going to change. On the bright side, i can still run handcannon sidearm. And if what they said is true, then a sniper too? If you are playing very passively, then thats a dangerous setup. But death is just a part of the game. Crucible seems to be in an even further slump in terms of weaponry. I predict sidearms handcannons meta will carry into destiny 2. Now that this setup is far easier to incorporate, bad news for pvp
In terms of pve, bravo bungie. You really made an intriguing weapon system. Ive always felt like snipers where the only good pve special. Having two multi purpose primaries will greatly help pve considering snipers can still be incorporated. Very interesting set up
Crucible 4v4?
All these cool abilities and im limited to only 4v4........ really? This is at least the rumor im hearing. I dont want to jump to conclusions but. If this is the case, then they really messed up in pvp. Only 8 people makes the game slow, we already see it in trials. Im really not gonna play pvp id that change goes through. At least rumble will be unaffected
Guided games
At least we have a matchmaking system
Conclusion
Overall im pretty happy with what i saw. We didint get to see any character customization, only some of the armor sets. I wanna see what we can change on that armor, maybe that lady at the farm knows a barber? Maybe the men can actually grow facial hair. I wanna know how my guardian can express themselves now that they are determined to tale back their home. How has the scope of the game? How many people can i find just exploring? I refuse to beleive only 1 or 2 guardians are all i meet in the wilderness. I just wanna know how many people are runnning around a given word is it still like 6? Or do we now have 50? But enough speculation
The sandbox and scope seem a lot better. Tanks, npcs, enemy abilities. It looks really badass
The abilities and sublasses are hands down better and more full of depth
The new weapon loadout is questionable, but im not gonna jump the gun
And crucible 4v4? At least i wont be too effected by the numbers game.
I give that reveal a B+ ill wait to hear what the beta is offering before preordering, but i am aknowledging the clear improvement of destiny 2
