Should Destiny 2 Be A New Game Or Expansion?
In both theoreticals it's the same amount of content.
Basically, do you want Destiny 2 to be a completely fresh start were you have no characters, gear, or anything, and have to start over in a new world, or do you want Destiny 2 to be just an enormous expansion onto what we already have?

I would honestly like a clean slate. I want new weapons and gear. New areas. The thought of using the same exotics for the life cycle of the game makes me cringe a little bit on the inside.

If they make it a new game, they can make radical improvements and overhauls to drastically improve the game experience, they could much more easily add things like spaceship battles, and they wouldn't feel like a sloppy afterthought. Whereas if they were to make it an expansion, it would be more like I originally invisioned. It would be a game that in 10 years, it would only get bigger, more expansive, and REALLY have an activity for every mood. It would be a gigantic and immersive universe with tons of destinations and hundreds of missions, dozens of strikes, and probably like 100 crucible maps, but it would hardly really change. That's just my take on it, anyways.

Both. I don't want to lose everything I have, but I also want them to make the game better due to not having the limitations of the old gen consoles. If I have to pick though, new game, for the same reasons specified above. They can make Destiny 2 sooo much better without old gen in the picture.

1 ReplyI might give destiny 2 a try...but buy it after it's been out for a couple weeks, that way, if it's a total flop, then I'll be able to save some money. Otherwise it should for sure be a new game. They need to try to get away from the bad rep that Destiny originally got. Btw, I'm only posting this for you smog bb.

I don't care if they make your stuff obsolete, I'd just like my character. What I do want is some of those cool features they're starting to add in, like custom games and such. Transmog, trading, maybe something to make it feel even more like an rpg. And Especially bringing back the old raids. It would be cool af. Also more lore and story and more unique weaponry and armor customization. I want my hunter to look badass.
