The last thing I want is a nerf.
Assuming you don't have a Doctrine of Passing, what's the best way to counter a DoP on close range maps like Thieve's Den or Adrift?
My ideal solution would be to un-nerf the guns I've already worked long and hard for, like my Vex Mythoclast or Thorn.

When going against a Doctorine,, it is only a matter of who shoots first...that's it.
-
The mida+shotgun combo is still quite effective. If you just can't set down a sniper then idk. Universal Remote + sniper is too weird for me.
-
Mida for everything! Kill them before they see you!

1 ReplyEither move from side to side or keep jumping if you use single shot weapons. I use this tactic to counter literally everything haha.

3 RepliesEdited by More Power: 5/23/2016 2:50:33 PMThanks for all the tips... maybe I should have included more info in my original post.... I have a Grasp of Malok, a Nechrochasm, a fairly good Arminius-D, an Atheon's Epilogue and a couple of Saladin's Haakon's Hatchets with the vendor roll. I also have a couple Hawksaws with good rolls. My favorite primaries have the "lightweight" perk, because it makes strafing more effective. Not a single primary I have is competitive in a 1v1 against a DoP at medium ranges. Even with "lightweight" perk, once a DoP begins doing damage, you are mired in wet concrete and cannot get away. Who wins a fight like that depends on damage over time, and the DoP is unbeatable within its effective range. I've lost quite a few engagements with a DoP even when I was laying it to them with a Harrowed Qullim's. That's just not right.... I don't have this problem when going up against any other primary...... any edit: add gun

1 ReplyAtheons Epilogue :)
-
Strafing seems to mess a lot of doctrine users up.

2 RepliesEdited by Hamlet76: 5/22/2016 8:44:04 PMI don't have a DoP either and I don't want it nerfed. The best counter to it imo is a good gun and a solid strafe. Currently I've been loving my Grasp of Malok. If you have the patience to farm for one it's well worth it. Edit: Bonus points for asking for tips/counters instead of crying for a nerf. We need more like you, guardian.

I haven't seen many doctrines for a while, but if I do they are easy to counter just keep your distance or rush in with a shotgun.
-
Soulstealers claw with hidden hand like mine Almost all shots hit the target and it's easy to control Ps presuming you have one because I got lucky on mine with my first HoJ package after April update
-
I started using TLW again.

2 RepliesYour best bet is getting to the long sight lines, that's where Doctrine becomes not great due to recoil becoming too high to spray full auto. The thing is supposed to be god-like up close, not great at a distance do to recoil eventually becoming too high, even with max stability and counterbalance.
-
3 Replies@LateMinotaur051 On close range maps like Thieves Den and Adrift not many things counter it except for shotguns, the last word (surprisingly it still does), Arminius-D, Necrochasm, Soul-Stealers Claw, fusion rifles(If you can time it right). But in general countering the Doctrine is very simple back up or use the guns i listed
-
Keep your distance. Use a longer range primaries. For example. A high RoF pulse is a great counter (grasp of malok) Fusions are great (don't miss) Rockets/HMG There are many ways to beat it. Don't let the nerfherders lie to you
-
12 RepliesNothing can counter it. No primary can 1v1 it and win. I hate that gun, but only because I don't have it.
-
7 RepliesThat gun needs a nerf
-
Tlw. Hawksaw. Soulstealers. Shotty. Arminus. Paleocontact. There's a couple more.
-
Watch the radar like a hawk. Use a similar weapon. Grenades, then more grenades. Blink movements. Team shooting. But 1 v 1 up close hard to beat.
-
Nerf it
-
Fusion rifles
-
Shotgun, handcannons, another DoP archetype..
-
Handcannon
-
Plan c. You'll win 80% of the time in close to mid range encounters against DoP. Last word. Win about 60% depends on hits landed. High agility perks/armors (dance machines, twilight garrison, etc.) Move back and forth the stability of the gun will cause them to miss a lot. Sticky grenades. Grasp of malok. Has more range and melts just as good.
-
Personally I use a high impact handcannon like judith-D from the gunsmith, the first curse also from the gunsmith or the hawkmoon which is unfortunately a random drop. I'm not a fan of auto rifles and favor percision weapons over spray and play ones. It will take some careful aim and patience to master but you can win if you can master them.

2 RepliesShot gun(two to the mourge) Hand cannon (I use a Byronic hero) High damage ARs(I use deal breaker) Fusions( any really, aim for the knees or crotch) Snipers(I'm shit with them, but long range works) Scouts(teluona FTW) Heavy(duh) Super(duh) Grenade(duh) What doesn't work- Shotgun( it's a 50/50 depending on your shotgun and range, so it's here too) Sidearm Slow charge fusion(the only "bad fusions") Really slow ROF AR Rushing with any gun Lack of environment awareness

Edited by Lich: 5/21/2016 9:06:42 PMRed spectre mid damage autos are good Hawksaw and grasp of malok destroy the doctrine Ironwreath poops on them Guns of the same archtype too arminus and soulstealers claw Hawkmoon, last word, eyasaluna Fusions like thesan and telesto wreck it Talolc, mida, nl shadow The list goes on. Glad to hear you don't cater towards nerfs!
