Maverick underwhelming compared to String of Curses
At first, I though that Ace of spades was going to be an amazing weapon for killing trash mobs very quickly, like thralls or acolytes and even psions. But then I realised how underpowered the gun was compared to bad juju. Really.
[b]The Maverick perk moves 1 round from the reserve to the magazine on a precision kill.

[b]String of curses reloads your magazine completely on a kill, no need to be a precision kill, and doesn't take ammo from your reserves. Plus, kills help to charge your super.
Edit: Bad Juju also has a damage buff after a kill.[/b]
Am I the only one who finds this a non-sense? Why add a gun with such a bad exotic perk? I could've understood if it was a secondary exotic perk, like the zoom on hereafter and the orb of light, but this as the principal perk doesn't make any sense.
If you have any proposal to fix the perk, please leave them here. Bu my goal is really to get this to bungie's attention. So that they know it doesn't make any sense.

2 RepliesSo I'd look at Fabian Strategy first. Maybe give the FS the extended mag built into the base stats, and upping the base range and stability by 3-5. Then replacing extended mag with Perfect Balance. Oh and making the exotic perk work.

It has other problems, like that disgusting 55 round reserve count. Absolutely unusable - needs to be at least 96 in reserve (a total of 9 full clips). Hawkmoon suffers from the same problem, but it was designed for PvP mostly so it's not an issue with the respawns in Crucible. Clearly Ace of Spades was meant for PvE with Firefly, so it needs an ammo count more in line with PvE guns. One of Fatebringer's best perks was the fact it held a total of 117 rounds (9 full 13-round clips) - you never really ran out. Ace of Spades is an EXOTIC. It should rival this ammo count at the very least. Maverick is more useful when you actually have bullets in reserve to use. Instead, you scrounge for PRIMARY ammo (of all things) in the middle of a gunfight...

Think about it on the other side. What if they had made a gun that was just far and away better than other guns? But it was only for hunters.

Just because one exotic is actually decent doesn't mean it needs a nerf so it can shitty alongside another one.

I think its a great gun for pve I just wished they would increase the fire rate a smidge that would make it more viable in pvp hawkmoon does way better in pvp with no perks unlocked

Precision shots led to firefly trigger and bullet back in the mag. Top kills with 227, 2nd place dude had 148. Gun is good. Just use it right.

the class specific exotics need to be relatively underwhelming compared to other exotics or people will complain that theyre being forced to run one class

What if maverick had this addition: "Precision kills move one bullet to the mag *and increase damage for a short time.". Making the ammo regeneration more prevalent as you'd be dumping less of a clip to kill the next enemy. And would keep the theme of the guns perks you must get precision kills for it to be effective.

AoS is my go to crucible weapon. All I need is more bullets so I can use it everywhere!

I love aos but it could use more reserve ammo other then that 1 bullet kills most non major enemys so you rarely have to reload if u hit crits

The gun is fine. With that said, I would like to see a buff to reserve ammo capacity on all Hand Cannons.

Reloading moves all lucky rounds to the top of the magazine (So after two kills you have two lucky rounds assuming you didn't proc the first one killing the second guy. You then reload and then the first two shots in your magazine will be lucky rounds. To avoid being too crazy, say you round up 5 lucky rounds, then shoot twice to kill someone. If you don't use up your other three lucky rounds they will be lost if you reload again before shooting them.)

7 RepliesTaking a look at all the class exotics, they are all pretty underpowered so as not to cause excessive rustling by people who won't get them. If ace of spades was buffed to be on par with Bad Juju, it'd be tied with the best trash smasher in the game while titans with a legendary auto rifle that eats up an exotic slot and warlocks with an above average scout rifle would have crap in comparison. And if they nerf the Bad Juju just because you think the gun isn't as good, then everybody loses an exceptional and fun pulse rifle.

A hunter bitching about ace of spades, and I'm over here with my Fabian strategy.... Ace of Spades also has firefly going for it, giving you great ability to clear tons of mobs. Bad JuJu doesn't have that. I think Ace is great the way it is. Doesn't need a buff, and JuJu doesn't need a nerf.

Ace is like a fun Fatebringer but with extra bullets you can have fun With in strikes, Tlaloc you can have fun with cuz it's great in crucible but it's balanced cuz you need to hold your super in for it to be good. And Fabian strategy.... Let's not talk about that gun... Okay we will it definitely needs something to make it special... It's a bore

1 ReplyAce of Spades has Firefly, Third Eye AND Maverick. That is a really mean perk set for a Hand Cannon. I love the way those three perks work together. Third Eye lets me ADS without having to worry about getting flanked which leads to more precision kills, which means more Firefly explosions, and less reloading.
