How to fix Sunbreakers: The solution nobody sees

Just to clear the air. I'm a Sunbreaker main. I hope HoS does not gets nerfed (I'd love that actually). But the fact is, eventually Bungie will turn our direction with the nerf bat and swing away. I'd rather offer suggestions than hope they don't castrate Sunbreakers. Here's my theory on how to balance HoS without a neutering it: [i][b]Forgemaster: When Hammer of Sol is active, Titans have reduced Agility and Lift (or alternatively, reduced damage reduction). Suncharge: Hammers consume more super energy, Suncharge consumes less super energy. Fire Keeper: Hammers consume considerably less super energy when standing in a Sunspot.[/b][/i] 1. Titans will be slightly easier targets with Forgemaster, but that's the trade off for having extra hammers. Risk vs Reward. 2. Suncharge will be viable choice, but emphasizes Suncharging in close proximity over throwing hammers. Risk vs Reward. 3. Sunspots (Scorched Earth/Fire Keeper) get a much needed buff. 2-3 more hammers than Forgemaster and an overshield, but at the cost of being limited to Sunspots for maximum effectiveness. Risk vs Reward. [b][i]TL;DR - More hammers, but be an easier target. Or be a tougher target, but have less hammers.[/i][/b] [spoiler]Edit 1: No longer applicable Edit 2: Additional tags Edit 3: Clarifying some stuff up front to help those who don't read the entire post Edit 4: Added suggested buff to Fire Keeper. Currently, Forge Master in itself nets more hammers than the Scorched Earth/Fire Keeper combo. Edit 5: 600+ replies and trending, keep it up guys! Edit 6: 800+ replies!!! Added a note up top since people read 'no double jump' and freak out. Edit 7: Simplified the entire post and made it shorter. Also limited mobility limitation to just the Forgemaster talent and a change to Suncharging to emphasize Suncharge over throwing hammers. This distinctly separates the 3 builds from each other and helps address some things you guys had issues with. Edit 8: 1000+ replies!!! Also fixed some grammar Edit 9: 1200+ replies :) by popular demand, added an alternative change to Forgemaster[/spoiler]

For 1 year titans have been limited to immobile supers which were powerful at only a specific point i.e. people running into blind bubble left and right and people standing 2cm away from each other for a perfect smash. You realise that people will just run away from an immobile sunbreaker right? so that rules two of your summarised options 1 and 2. reduced number of hammers? reduced to what? 3-4 hammers? and still not have most of the mobility? Going by that logic, hunter gunslinger should be adjusted. Same goes for warlock stormcaller is that not OP? WTF is OP anymore? Leave Titans alone man.....

          Thats the most retarted thing I ever seen. That change would make it worst than bubble currently is in pvp. Not having double jump? SInce 50% of hammers are missed soon as you jump in the air getting 1 kill without double jump and walking would be insane. Standing behind cover.. Activating super 'oh its sunbreaker. lets walk away so he can't kill us.' What are sunbreakers meant to use to get kills? Those usless fusion grenades or the worst melee in the game? What your trying to do is shift meta back to hunters having the best supers and best abilities. Right now hunters have the best abilities and insanely good supers. Sunbreaker only has best super and no abilities. Those changes would kill it forever. How many kills can you get with Hos? 4-3? Very rare you get 5 and usually means your opponent is an idiot. Golden gun ? 4 easy kills with no range restrictions combined with great abilities like 2x throwing knife with burn. I;m sorry but if you relay in pvp only on your super and you play a hunter/warlock or been playing the whole time then your simply a not very god player, salty and you picked wrong class to play with.

                I'm tired of people trying to nerf sunbreaker!! Titans just got an amazing super and people want to nerf it into the ground. The Sunbreaker is not OP "News Flash" there are just way too many idiots in crucible. Many times I have been gunned down while using my super and it'd be even worse to be almost stationary while attempting anything. Any way have you ever seen somebody say "oh yeah titans are the best in crucible" But now getting their first ever mobile super everyone loses their minds. edit: I know a lot of people don't like it so my way if we nerfed it would to make the armor of light to blessing so instead of double armor only 1.5

                • Okay. Nerf the armor when arc blade is active. No reason why am agile class should have both huge tank and agility during a super.

                      Wasn't the entire point of HoS to give Titans a mobile ranged super like everyone else? It seems like it'd just be a lot easier and less annoying to just fix the damage resistance / heal problem. Instead of rooting Titan's in place again or having everyone just play hide and seek with the fat kid till he runs out of breath after they hear the HoS noise.

                        • So basically to fix sun breakers we minimalise the two aspects that affect sun breakers the least? On a map like exodus blue you can still walk through the middle building slowly and hammer the spawn points easily and get team wipes, 4 hammers means you'll get the same amount of kills as a gunslinger hunter Sorted.
