Ok, so apparently this post needs a complete overhaul.
So this post originally compared how The Taken King is roughly the same amount of content as the next patch for Diablo 3, however, the Diablo content is free.
Everyone seems to think that this was a Diablo fanboy post, or a post about not being able to afford the DLC, neither of which are true. The point was simply that the amount of content doesn't warrant the price tag of the DLC. And this is a slippery slope for gamers, because the more and more that people pre-order and pay for lackluster content...the more developers will start following suit.
I play Destiny, I have the DLC (didn't buy it though, got it from a friends account), but Bungie has to soon realize that they can't keep giving us very little content at a premium price.
$40 wouldn't be bad if they could do something beneficial and get rid of errors.

30 RepliesI would just like to point our something Bungie did better than Blizzard. The taken king is $40 for a digital download and $60 for the base game and all the former expansions. Now, they are distinguishing that these are two totally separate things and you can purchase either version, and get the collectible items that come with collectors edition for an extra $20. Now, let's go back about a year ago, Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition is announced adding the reaper of souls content to consoles, sounds great right? Well, if you had never bought it before it would be, but for the people who bought the original version it was a HUGE slap in the face, not only could they not download JUST the expansion, but there were special edition in game items they couldn't buy separately. People LITERATELY had to buy the game twice just to play the expansion. Sure, there is free content coming to all version, but they screwed a good amount of their customers. Now which one seems worse now?

You make good point bout consumers needing to be more selectives because if they buy stuff to easily now now there's not even need to convince people companies know this, they so confident Like the Luke guy say said people will jus "throw money at the screen" (On side note of those are the dances my $20 gonna get than forget it keep your emotes those are ugly as I've ever seen hope those ain't the only new dances) Anyways, if people don't listen other companies will soon follow suit because we will no longer get free dlc like amazing games do now such as the witcher, Diablo, etc

Yes It's that simple, you guys need to stop preaching to others about corporate bungie. Bungie are here to make money. If I enjoy the content they provide then I'll give them my money That I earned and it will be well spent because I will spend time on the game and enjoy grinding out those weapons doing the story, pvp, the works. A night on the piss cost a good £100 these days and for that you get a 3 day hangover. Sick in your bed and if you are really really lucky some dutty piece chewing on your end that you will want to forget about. So 40 quid totally sound investment.
