Last gen hunting for achievements to get my Gamerscore up added many many extra hours of fun and challenging gameplay to all my favourite games; now I'm on ps4 I really like the trophy system, as you can show that you can get gold and platinum trophies rather than just playing lots of games for easy gamerscores.
Unfortunately it seems everybody has lost interest. Why is this? Surely if these challenges were in game we would all want to do them, but because they are part of a metagame it seems not.
What's your opinion on achievements/trophies in games? I'm particularly interested in ex collectors who have become bored...honestly can't believe nobody complained when the destiny expansions didn't have them!

4 RepliesDepends on what the achievements are. I will usually go and get almost all of them, but some are just unnecessarily tedious.

3 RepliesEdited by banj0: 8/12/2015 11:40:35 AMIt's kind of annoying that achievements have to be in every game on Microsoft's platforms; many games simply don't suit having superfluous trinkets constantly destroying any immersion that could have existed.

I liked them a lot back on the 360. But now on the One I don't care. It feels like a chore to do some. I rather just enjoy the game instead.
-
2 RepliesI never saw the point of them...
-
I always try to achievement hunt. When I play a game I try to get most or all of the achievements, which is why Master Chief Collection is bothering me since it has like 600 achievements! I need them all!!
-
3 RepliesLoved achievements on 360, but it's just not the same on ps4 and X1
-
It's kinda love hate with me.
-
Was never interested in trophies/achievements. I do go for high online leaderboard scores in certain games.
-
I never was a big achievement hunter. If they do certain things ingame, however, I show more interest.
-
Used to like it, now I have so much gamerscore it really doesn't matter.
-
I was a full blown achievement whore during my time with the 360. Ever since I got an XB1 I just don't care.
-
2 RepliesI figured it would pile up as I played, never felt the need to accumulate a shitload of GP's all at once lol. I see it as more of a story than some sort of marker.. all the games I've played, and the time I seem to have put into em.
-
I treat it like Grimoire. I couldn't care less.

5 RepliesOnly recently have I started Achievement hunting. On Xbox 360 i've now 100%'d: Rayman Origins Alien Hominid Plants Vs. Zombies PvZ Garden Warfare I'm really close on Arkham Knight and Rayman Legends on Xbone though.
-
4 RepliesI have 27 platinums and 1660 trophies. I intend on platinuming every game I get from now on.
-
I try to get as many trophies as I can. But I dont exactly go hunting for them. Hence my singular platinum trophy
-
5 RepliesGamerscore is somewhat interesting, the trophy system somehow doesn't interest me at all though.
-
Never cared. Then I looked one day and I was on about 30k. Then I started shooting for GS. Now I don't try and go for 100% on any games, and I don't do an achievement I don't want to. But I will go for stuff like Batman's NG+ for a 50, or rerunning levels with no kills for 20 or something... Stuff like that. I'm on about 60k now.
-
After i got past 10k gamerscore i didn't care, i believe im 50k now. And with psn my old account was a level 11 but i don't have that account anymore.

1 ReplyXbox One killed my thirst for points.

1 ReplyEdited by The Elike: 8/11/2015 4:25:45 PMMy 54k gamer score says no
-
Edited by SoulEatinFool: 8/11/2015 5:59:06 PMI lost interest in trophies and game score shortly after the 360 came out. They do nothing for me.
-
3 RepliesI honestly believe if we have them at all, there should be no more than 3: Game Complete-EASY Game Complete-NORMAL Game Complete-HARD
-
Don't have time or energy to go for platinum or 100% a game. I still do some games it's just it's a hassle for me now. I just don't like having. A game show up and having trophy percent lower then 10%.
-
1 ReplyI liked how old gen xbox had the hud thing where you could go and check out achievements easier, just seems to be a hassle now.
-
1 ReplyI used to, but after a while it got to the point where DLC adding Achievements just got ridiculous. If I don't buy the DLC I can't 100%....just kinda made it pointless to try and 100% games anymore.
