I know that this is a highly controversial issue in the game and that it can either ruin the game and it's grind and satisfaction for loot, or improve upon the overall enjoyment of the game. IMO, the game'a grind is ridiculous yet rewarding. I don't want to spend like a month farming for one specific exotic weapon over and over again I simply don't have the time. However, I have a friend that has beat the whole game and literally has over 300 strange coins he never uses. If we could trade then I would be able to buy stuff from Xur. There are multiple ways that I can see how trading would work in the game. There's the old fashioned I'll give u this and u give me that. There's also a way that I think would be most fair, is to have both people trade for an item of equal value. This means that if u trade for an exotic, u have to give an exotic. Anyways, I want to hear from the community and what u guys think. If I have any ideas that are for or against trading, please let me know.
(AND DONT FORGET TO VOTE IN THE POLL)
BTW here is a video that I think explains really well how trading could work in destiny

EDIT: I'm really enjoying hearing what you all have to say! Keep it up. There are really good ideas and opinions coming from each side.
PS: Honestly I was inspired with the idea of trading from the game Warframe. If u guys are interested, u should see how it works.

2 RepliesThe trading in warframe was great.

Edited by Nate Catt: 5/17/2015 3:46:16 AMSo 70% of people say no
but people bitch about wanting it quite a bit
-
It would break the game for sure so no.
-
With the current loot system, no.
-
If the exotic weapons and armor all had different perks and Stats then it would be cool... Maybe. We should be able to trade glimmer and materials though
-
5 RepliesYou all realize trading was originally suppose to be in the game right? RNG would've made sense with trading.
-
2 RepliesOne of my friends (Reefkeeper135) has one of the best ideas for trading. Here goes: After you finish a raid, Vault of Glass for instance, you have a 5 minute window in orbit to trade the items/weapons/etc. (That you received in the raid, and only what you received in the raid.) So if someone got a vision of confluence but someone has his 18th fatebringer, they can trade within that five minute window. Lemme know how ya like the idea!

No. The in game currency, glimmer, is virtually worthless even in game and has a low cap. You'd end up having to decide on alternative currency conversions. It is inevitable in any game with a trading economy and worthless currency. Diablo 2 had its 3/20/20s. Guildwars had Torment Gems. The ideal alternate currency would have to be low inventory space, stackable, and have some intrinsic value in game. We have a handful of viable alternatives, motes, strange coins and maybe exotic shards although that last one is of limited utility. Obviously coins are a bad idea since they are already an exotic currency as are notes although motes will have some utility as reforge items. The issue with either is the relative ease with which they are found. Inflation would be unreal and unsustainable after awhile. Also I shudder to think of the mounds of threads full of people arguing about the price of Ghorn. This game was simply never designed for trade and to try to introduce it now would break things as well as add another thing for Bungie to balance only this time they don't have complete control over the thing they need to balance.

3 RepliesThis community is terrible. An exact same poll was made five months ago and the results were flipped.
-
I have 3 ghorns a vex and all kinds of I'll Shit, now the only exotic I realy use is mida. I was happy wen I got it and I would all the others away cuz I dnt care 4 them. To argue that trading would help ppl without it is lost because how would you no and would it help when most of the ppl who dnt have what they want dnt play because it didn't in the raid that 1 time. 1st ghorn rahool dropped 4 me. No trading until verity is far more vast. Sry 4 story and grammar. Just my my opinion.
-
All trading would do is open up a market to buy weapons and armor from people. 19.99 for a gally stuff like that isn't needed.
-
I would say about 75% of you saying yes either dont have a gjallahorn or is a friend of someone who needs one but i dont have a gjallahorn and i say NO trading!!! I think it would mess everything up. But if bungie would set it up right i say MAYBE?
-
To some extent
-
Not right now, maybe way down the road. There just aren't enough things to trade for. I feel like if there were trading now everyone would have everything. A few years maybe. I hope I made sense lol
-
To every idiot that thinks trading would bring about people selling exotics on craigslist; you are fücking retarded. Sure people might try. But only other idiots would buy it, a fool and his money... But it's their goddamn money! Who cares? Are you that butthurt that you don't have the money to spend on exotics, so you think people shouldn't be able to legitimately trade? Assholes are everywhere. With or without trading. Trading would just BENEFIT the community. Almost any other game like this has some kind of trading. Do all the players there spend ludicrous amounts of money for all their gear? No. High horse, get off it.
-
If you can only trade right after rewards from a raid. Like if you got one weapon and someone got another, you could trade. But that's the only way that trading could actually happen
-
No, I am far happier with the continuing adjustments to the gear system than I thought I would be, and I think I would hate trading.
-
Ruin game
-
15 RepliesAll trading would do is open Gjallarhorn for $350 listings on Craigslist.
-
4 RepliesYes and no I feel you shouldn't be able to freely trade with anybody. But not being able to trade within fireteam members at the end of the mission on the reward screen seems stupid. They said trading was not implemented because its not a cool story to say I got my Gjallahorn from my friend who earned 2. But if you just did the same mission as the other guy and want to switch. I don't see a downside
-
Yes and no.
-
Trading would be good, but it should be earned after so many hours of gameplay. With the RNG system, in reality, it is possible for certain players to never get certain weapons.
-
Yes. And a £ucking story.
-
4 RepliesInb4 real life currency is used because internet
-
If they implement trading, they might as well just give every gun to everyone. It would have the same effect and be easier to implement.
-
2 RepliesYes trading would be great. I could give all my extra gear to my friend so we could FINALLY play a raid together.
