It's not exactly freemium but it's close enough to be cousins. It's enough of the stink that it should worry you.

In game, false, currency that's part of the game structure doesn't worry me at all. Strange coins have yet to make me scared to look at my bank statement. In game purchases are an entirely different thing

That is what worries me, how long until Bungievision let you buy 30 strange coins for $20? Or something else like that?

Since it hasn't happened, doesn't look likely to happen and strange coins / marks etc can be obtained easily enough from completing tasks in-game I wouldn't worry about it, personally
