Destiny = Most Disappointing Game. Ever.
Can you think of a game that ever disappointed you more than Destiny has with its freemium/RNG bullshit loot, lack of content, repetitiveness/grindfest, inexcusable bugs, and laughable story?
I can't. I've put a lot of time in, because it was still fun early on to play with friends. But now almost all of us despise this game. And with what's planned for the future, nothing looks like it's going to change.
We all had sky high hopes, bought in to the hype, but this game is pretty terrible. Pretty and controls well, but it's a bad bad game.
Anything else close to this disappointing for you?
EDIT: People love to cite my play time as some kind of argument that the game can't be that disappointing. Here is an answer to that:
Did I have a lot of fun?
Yes - in the beginning. Early progression and playing with friends was fun for a while. The loot slot machine had me addicted as well.
Did I feel my money was well spent?
I'm conflicted here. Clearly I put a lot of time in, so there is some value in that. But I feel like the money I spent sent a very wrong message to Bungievision - that what they did was OK and people will buy anything. That worries me.
Did you put in more hours then most games?
Yes I did.
When new content arrives will I play?
NO WAY IN HELL. I preordered the expansion pass, so I will check out the new raid in HoW. But after that I won't spend another dime on this game unless massive fundamental changes are made.
There's no doubt the universe they created is very compelling, but the execution so far has been so piss poor that I refuse to encourage more of the same by giving them any more money, UNLESS things change in a big way.

4 RepliesI didn't read anything on Destiny. I didn't watch videos, I didn't read interviews, didn't play the beta. I didn't care about Destiny. My friend bought it, and since I was going to get a PS4 anyway I decided to get the white destiny edition. I had no expectations, and this game has thus far failed to disappoint me. Glad I didn't get any hype, a lot of you sound like you're having a miserable time.

So many many come to mind, post prevalent is MLB the Show one year when because of a bug I couldn't even play it until 2 1/2 months after launch. That was WAY more disappointing.

I know I did, and thus far Destiny has delivered exactly what I thought it would; a fun to play coop shooter with a slowly expanding world. Is it what it appeared as in trailers and previews? Not a bit, and there are likely mountains of reasons for that. But it's still fun. And if you're on this forum, you're clearly of the same mind. Taking advertising with a grain of salt is kinda part of the world we live in. If I believed the hype, I'd be disappointed my jeep couldn't carry me through a monsoon and down a sheer snowy cliff without a scratch. Besides. The most disappointing game ever goes to perfect dark zero.

Kotor 2 even though it is my favorite game of all time along with battlefront 2 I was disappointed by how much was cut from the game and to this day I'm still sad I can't go to the HK factory on my xbox

Maybe it was just the fact that you played 1 out of 3 characters that made it repetitive? I'd wait for your "quantity doesn't equal quality" comment but that's the most repetitive thing in this post.

RIFT (lol that game!) Archeage (Altho it being Sandbox does take it out of context) Guild Wars 2 sucked for a lot of people and they had to rehash the game a little. FF14 (The original) FF11 (Still trash unless you're a masochist) I believe your point is flawed. Edit : Learn to never follow the Hype of a game. There's litteraly no point in doing so. Watch people on Twitch play it, look at it, judge your own opinion then decide. Pretty simple and safe.

1 ReplyI avoided the hype machine until beta and then loved the beta, so I haven't been that bitter. This is the only game I've played for months and I am not tired of it, but to play along... Vanguard was a failed MMO put out by Sigil games, bought by SOE, crazyness, you should google it. They hyped it being the next the true successor to the original Everquest and they crapped the bed. Of course, I got the deluxe preorder. Even sports games like Madden disappoint more than this game every year.

3 RepliesI had same opinions after playing it for while, but I realized that I have been overhyped with this game. That might be the reason why I have been disappointed with Destiny. There are people who spend lots of time in this game but, I personally think Destiny as a type of a game which is meant to enjoy for a short period of time. Using too much of my time grinding into this game really bored me to death. So I play some other games then log in if I have some bounties and weekly strikes to do. After I'm done with it, I exit the game right away. I've been doing this for some time, now Destiny feels less boring for me

1 ReplyYou've never played games from the 80s and 90s I take it. 1 out of every 20 was fun, if that. They were mostly crap. The expectations are not justified. It's not the kind of game for you, so what? You act like your wife cheated on you and is taking the kids and the dog away. Why do think we care that you don't like it? Most people like this game. It's only the vocal minority like you who has to try and ruin it for other people who still like Destiny. Just go away already. No one will miss you! It sounds like you and your friends should just get a different game since you all think alike. I'm betting some of you still like it but are just going along with what the others are thinking to fit in. If you truly despised Destiny, you would just walk away from it instead of creating a thread crying about it.

What disappoints me is how annoying the people who complain on forums are. I loved this game when it came out, was a saddened to hear the planned content had been cut, but I still enjoyed playing it and hitting the grind with my friends. You may be entitled to you opinions, but the most disappointing thing about destiny is how your opinions spoil the game (and forums) for everyone else. Sheesh, ppl on the destiny subreddit don't even complain, at all...

What I saw at the E3 conference was a glimmer of what could be; what should have been. It had such a luster to it that I got nerd goosebumps and had complete faith in Bungie. I really thought if anyone could make something great and groundbreaking, it would be them. I was convinced they would make us feel the way they made us feel when Halo came out.

15 RepliesDude, you have like 450+ hours in this game. Find me any form of entertainment that gives you 450 hours of enjoyment for 60 bucks. And if you put that much time into something you didn't enjoy you're an idiot, and that sounds like a personal problem.
