Can you think of a game that ever disappointed you more than Destiny has with its freemium/RNG bullshit loot, lack of content, repetitiveness/grindfest, inexcusable bugs, and laughable story?
I can't. I've put a lot of time in, because it was still fun early on to play with friends. But now almost all of us despise this game. And with what's planned for the future, nothing looks like it's going to change.
We all had sky high hopes, bought in to the hype, but this game is pretty terrible. Pretty and controls well, but it's a bad bad game.
Anything else close to this disappointing for you?
EDIT: People love to cite my play time as some kind of argument that the game can't be that disappointing. Here is an answer to that:
Did I have a lot of fun?
Yes - in the beginning. Early progression and playing with friends was fun for a while. The loot slot machine had me addicted as well.
Did I feel my money was well spent?
I'm conflicted here. Clearly I put a lot of time in, so there is some value in that. But I feel like the money I spent sent a very wrong message to Bungievision - that what they did was OK and people will buy anything. That worries me.
Did you put in more hours then most games?
Yes I did.
When new content arrives will I play?
NO WAY IN HELL. I preordered the expansion pass, so I will check out the new raid in HoW. But after that I won't spend another dime on this game unless massive fundamental changes are made.
There's no doubt the universe they created is very compelling, but the execution so far has been so piss poor that I refuse to encourage more of the same by giving them any more money, UNLESS things change in a big way.

1 ReplyHad fun, still having fun. You are the disappointment. Go post elsewhere.

3 RepliesStopped reading at the word "freemium". Destiny has no microtransactions. Get your facts straight before posting a rant.
-
1 ReplyIt only feels disappointing because it promised to be be so much more than it is. Destiny's playability has carried it so far, but it's unlikely to carry it much further than HoW imo.

1 ReplyMy friend, first you learn the definition. After having a 10 million dollar car for 5 years (example) i got a 300k car, and it was hugely disappointing. Is it a bad, heavens no. But its still disappointing

I have a different view of disappointment when it comes to games. If I am disappointed I know within a half hour of playing. If the game sucks, I turn it off and it collects dust or I get a refund. Putting hundreds of hours into a game and saying a video game is disappointing makes no sense to me. The disappointment may be that, with all things, it must come to an end. Or you've reached your threshold? I think the problem may be disappointment in the developer and it's inability to keep up with the gaming community's appetite for new content. So in that respect I see where you are coming from. Bungie just can't or won't keep pace, and that's frustrating. They released Crota and within two weeks it was irrelevant, and monotonous. But it still, the friends I've made keep me playing.

2 RepliesI agree with this post a lot. I love destiny but compared to how I thought the game was gonna be destiny is a big disappointment to me
-
2 Repliesobjection!! I am certain there are games far worse than destiny such as the first homefront game. (Threw objection in there because of your user name AceAttorney XD)

Amazing gunplay but that's about it. If they had random enemy patrols and more varied bounties I would play again. As it stands now I log on to see what xur is selling but thats it.
-
The game might be disappointing in some aspects but it's probably one of the best, most fun/addicting games I've ever played. Sitting around 600 hours. Only other games that come close to that play time are Activision/IW call of dutys
-
8 RepliesYou have over 700 hours played on Destiny. Tell me how disappointing it is again.
-
1 ReplyOP says destiny is the most disappointing game ever. Has 3 high level warlocks and has put in well over 500+ hours. Makes sense.
-
2 RepliesAccording to Angry Joe and Watchmojo.com, it's labeled as the most disappointing game in 2014.

7 Replies"But now almost all of us despise this game"... I'm sorry what? I have a ton of people I play with and not one person I have on my friends list despises this game. All of the idiots like you who post crap like this and other posts like 'I'm quitting destiny' don't leave? They pretend they're leaving to get a trending post because they're not good enough or insightful enough to get a good post trending. You don't like the game okay... Leave and don't come back, you won't be missed. I've not been disappointed by this game at all and I have never met anyone who 'despises' the game. 100% sure you're wrong in saying a 'majority' of people despise this game, not even close. People like you make this forum toxic because you project your bullshit onto us when nobody cares about your opinion... If they did you wouldn't need some crap like this to get trending.

Halo 4 for me.

4 RepliesHonestly, no. I have never been as hyped, and been let down as hard, as I have been by Destiny. Crysis 3 comes close. I wanted to play that so bad, but the audio bugs in the campaign made it unplayable for me, and they never got fixed (to my knowledge). I'm praying the new Battlefront doesn't disappoint as well.

1 ReplyYou never played the new Duke Nukem
