Can you think of a game that ever disappointed you more than Destiny has with its freemium/RNG bullshit loot, lack of content, repetitiveness/grindfest, inexcusable bugs, and laughable story?
I can't. I've put a lot of time in, because it was still fun early on to play with friends. But now almost all of us despise this game. And with what's planned for the future, nothing looks like it's going to change.
We all had sky high hopes, bought in to the hype, but this game is pretty terrible. Pretty and controls well, but it's a bad bad game.
Anything else close to this disappointing for you?
EDIT: People love to cite my play time as some kind of argument that the game can't be that disappointing. Here is an answer to that:
Did I have a lot of fun?
Yes - in the beginning. Early progression and playing with friends was fun for a while. The loot slot machine had me addicted as well.
Did I feel my money was well spent?
I'm conflicted here. Clearly I put a lot of time in, so there is some value in that. But I feel like the money I spent sent a very wrong message to Bungievision - that what they did was OK and people will buy anything. That worries me.
Did you put in more hours then most games?
Yes I did.
When new content arrives will I play?
NO WAY IN HELL. I preordered the expansion pass, so I will check out the new raid in HoW. But after that I won't spend another dime on this game unless massive fundamental changes are made.
There's no doubt the universe they created is very compelling, but the execution so far has been so piss poor that I refuse to encourage more of the same by giving them any more money, UNLESS things change in a big way.

Edited by Turtlessssssss: 2/6/2015 3:10:23 AMNot as disappointing as mine craft for console when it first came out. But look how far it's come. Destiny can do the same

4 RepliesEdited by D2 is cancer: 2/5/2015 10:59:42 PMIts a mess. A colossal f*ck up. Done with the game. Done with the sequels. Destiny series is on my "go f*ck yourself" list and that's not changing ever. For those still playing the game and do the EXACT same thing every day, i feel bad for you but that's you life, do wtf you want with it.

Borderlands the pre-sequel that was a sad BL title. Can't wait for 3 though

2 RepliesNeverDead I only finished it so I could get the campaign achievements and never have to touch it again

1 ReplyNice rehash of my post...lol. Here's a bump.

4 RepliesEdited by Moot: 2/5/2015 9:00:07 PMGames more disappointing than Destiny (to name a few): Sims 4 Transformers RotDS Watchdogs The crew Drive club Assassins creed unity I would play destiny any day over these, simply because, despite the smack it got from critics, it's still fun as shit. And it's getting better. So, to correct you, Destiny is hardly the ''worst game ever''. And I'm pretty sure that most of us here like the game. The oversensitive fragile dicks that hated the game moved out months ago.

Edited by ThisMahSwamp: 2/5/2015 9:14:26 PMDiablo 3 comes to mind. I played a ton of it simply because I am a fan of the franchise. The first 3-5 months were awful. Loot was so damn bad, I can't even begin to describe. You could literally go 2-3 months without ever seeing a single Legendary or Unique drop. Funny thing was, when it did drop, the stats were so low that even a rare could beat it. With this said, I stuck with the game, for some reason, as many flocked to different games. Over the course of a year, Blizzard made sweeping changes to the loot system that dramatically changed the game. Legendaries felt legendary and dropped more often per difficulty tier. With the release of the expansion, it looked even better than before. Wrong. The introduction of Rifts altered the game in a relatively negative way. There was only ONE way to get great items, and that was to do Rifts.....over and over and over again until your eyes bled. This game ended for me in September 2014. It was a good run, but I feel I should have left sooner. What you have just read is my opinion, but it is backed with hundreds upon hundreds of hours of gameplay. Above is a link to my D3 profile if you are questioning this. Note I quit playing entirely just as Destiny dropped. So, you are perfectly entitled to your opinion as am I. Just note, that every game goes through growing pains. Destiny has suffered very little of this in comparison to Diablo 3. I compare the two because I feel these games are the most relatable to one another. From RNG to farming at the least.

1 ReplyThe Old Republic was close, I expected so much from the KOTOR legacy. However the worst is still Destiny for sure. They hype was real.
-
3 RepliesThat's your opinion buddy, however I will continue to enjoy my game.

3 RepliesI agree 100% with the loot system. I have so much time in this game from day one from Alpha to right now. And I haven't found a Hawkmoon? But my friend who got the game 2 weeks ago found it twice!??!!??!?? -blam!-. THIS.GAME.

1 Reply'I've put a lot of time in' It's odd and ironic that this seems to be the one constant of universally negative reviews like this.

10 RepliesI would say you are overreacting/exaggerating there are plenty of games that were way more disappointing in the NES era. That said you are entitled to your opinion and while I will continue to play because I enjoy the game for what it is many will argue it should have been something different. To me it is no different than mass effect 1 was all RPG heavy and story driven I loved it, 2 was more shooter gears of warish didn't like it, 3 struck a balance but took flack for so many people jumping on board and jot liking the story. Destiny changed over the course of its development and I'm sure between now and next round of DLC/rumored comet expansion it will change some more. I see the game improvement from day one till now and will stick around.

1 ReplyI will admit... this game had sooo much potential. Kinda hurts to see that they are still making bad decisions too.

1 ReplyIm still enjoying Destiny and it has actually exceeded my expectations. To answer your question, i was pretty disappointed with borderlands 2. I traded it in 3 weeks later, well before i hit 600 hours of gameplay. I dont even know if that game has a forum because it was disappointing and i dont play it. You're probably just burned out from spending 600 hours on one class. Who wouldn't be? Maybe you can try a new class, take a break or just stop playing. To say Destiny's a bad game is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But your track record dramatically reduces your validity. No one puts 600 hours into games the truly believe are bad.

5 RepliesStill enjoying Destiny. I'll be happy to give them more money.

Edited by aces323st: 2/5/2015 8:43:18 PMGo play world of warcraft vanilla all the way to wrath of the lich king. Than upgrade to cataclysm talk about dissapointment.. I played for about 4 years before realizing it won't go anywhere. I've played destiny 3 months and I already have everything...

Why is it fail? You know they are struggling to keep numbers up when you have to have activities conceived and moderated outside of the game for minute in game practices; ie this sparrow racing bull. You're trying to make something as innovative & creative as a hoo la hoop with a first person shooter. Sure people can do all sorts with it, but it still stands bungie charged a full game price for an empty hoo la hoop of a game.

I guess you haven't played sonic 06.

I have felt disappointment from many games and destiny is NOT one of them. I have played since launch, every day in fact with over 1200 hours logged I still keep going back each and every day.

1 ReplyHad fun, still having fun. You are the disappointment. Go post elsewhere.
