95% of Destiny players will not beat HM Crota. Intended Bungie?
Just my personal opinion and speculation... I'm sure more will beat it as time goes on and maybe after some cheeses are more than likely figured out. Do you think that is right by Bungie? Do you think it is intended? Personally I think HM Crota was tuned a little to difficult and will prob turn alot of people away. I can't wait to beat him though...

EDIT: Just to clarify for those that dont read the post or comprehend english. I'm not trolling or whining, I like the raid, I really do, just curious on what Bungie's expected percentage is for completion... Granted 95% might be a slight exaggeration... It will still be a very high number of failures.
EDIT: Kinda cool this turning into a decent discussion, the whining troll posts have slowed down.
EDIT: Last one... I'll stick to my opinion but give maybe a more realistic number of 75% that wont beat HM Crota before HoW.
EDIT: 1 Feb 2015. Shocked this thread is still floating around... Really curious what the percentage is for Hard Mode. Its kinda funny Bungie will tell us and almost brag about how many times Crota went down, but won't tell us what percentage of players actually did it.

Not because it's unbeatable but because a lot of players don't have a dedicated group that they raid with and are forced to try their hand at lfg sections of the forums or the site. Im lucky I've had a solid group since CE was released with normal mode and we've developed the same tactics and use those to execute during the hard mode. Albeit some tactics had to be tuned for the added difficulty but we were able to put together 3 successful runs in the first 2 days. It's not because of the difficulty, you can see the countless posts of people's frustrations with randoms from the forums

Before the game came out, they said raids would be the greatest challenge they've created and that some people wouldn't even be able to beat them. If you expected every player to be able to beat it without an issue, then that's just ignorant.

Can't comment yet really. My group of 31's tried last night just to even get through the first half of the raid and we were getting hit way too hard. We'll all be 32 for next reset though and then shouldn't be too bad. Everything up to Crota is really a joke, just takes people not dying stupidly. The Crota fight itself I'm just convinced is made simplest by having a regular team. My group of 4 friends always brings in 2 randoms to help and one week we're fine and another it's a disaster. Thankfully another 2 friends should be raid ready soon and that will make things more enjoyable.

4 RepliesBungie, I paid for the DLC to get NEW weapons not OLD with Hive stuff on it. The raid sparrow is old as well. Just ugly color. The raid ship is old VoG ship with hive shit on it. We beat it 6 times yesterday. We had all 32 s for a couple. 3 32s and 3 31s for a couple also. Its really simple if u have a good sword guy and u keep the knights staggered. The is a video a team memeber posted. How 2 kill crota safely is the name on youtube check it out.

3 32's & 3 31's worked fine plus strats are simple, everyone will finish HM Crota (just as long as the -blam!-ing sword doesn't despawn when you pick it up)

Given how easy it is to acquire vendor gear, more people will beat Crota on hard before Atheon on normal.

Going off numbers before Christmas. Out of the 100% that bought destiny in the first month 50% quit within 30 days of their purchase. That said, retry sure 10% has already beat HM so unless the Christmas people made up for the loss of people, it be around 20% already.

I don't buy that because it seems like a lot have already beaten it. I really think it's just getting a good sword bearer. I went in the forums today just to help people as sword bearer. I ran with 5 teams and we beat it all 5 times. One team we beat it first try. For most I helped it was their first time.

Pshhhh go back to playing vanilla or bc wow days. Then you'll know about wiping for progression and taking a long time to accomplish one thing. And I liked that! Are you honestly satisfied that this many people have downed hard Crota in its first week of release? All of the content in this easy mode game is put on farm instantly. 3-4 hours worth of wiping and learning and that's all it takes to master the toughest content in the game.
