[ Petition ] Bring chat to Destiny!

Destiny is pretty awesome. The graphics and gameplay are what I expected but the game is missing one crucial piece, and that's simple communication between players. We can't have a "MMO" FPS without communication Bungie.
I want to be able to press down on the d-pad, and have everyone within the tower, patrol session, or my multiplayer team hear me and I want to hear them back. Its just essential.
But I also recognize Bungie's problem with this. There are undoubtedly many age groups that play this game and having a wasted 21 year old college kid playing with a 14 year old can be both tricky and asinine.
So I want to start a petition and have this be heard and quantified for Bungie. Sign the petition if you agree with these two requests.
1 - Make it possible to chat with other players through a one button tap. Down on the d-pad works fine. I don't need to hear my team all the time, but I do want to be able to talk.
2 - At the character customization screen, add a personal information section where I can put my age and playing style. The information wouldn't be publicly shared but would be used to match people up based on that information.

Signed...in agreement with optional on/off chat option, at the very least in matchmaking and PvP...I shouldn't have to friend everyone on this game just to say "hold on got to switch guns" or "hey gold loot chest over here"

if you have a mic on ps3 add me InStirMental but yes its the only thing lagging in this beautiful game i want to talk to my fellow team and just be able to do call outs and socially just talk with the world around me.....i feel alone like in the middle of a dessert with no one hearing me in this world with out someone to talk with so please bungie bring some kind of feature

Here here... It's so frustrating being unable to communicate with my fire team in strikes and even worse in pvp. What's the problem? If I don't like someone I can always mute them...

At least we should have the chance to write a text bubble or something over our head on the tower to let other players know we want others to join us in a raid, fireteam or anything. Something like "need partners for moon's mission 1" and that shows when someone gets close to you in the tower... I don't have too many friends on the game and its been hard to find people to play the same missions I want unless you invited them to the fireteam or send them a psn message just to know if they want to join me and many times even player on the same lvl as me had already played that mission or are waiting for someone else, or are leaving or anything.

Yes Yes and Yes. I could handle the story and PvE being silent but we need chat in PvP for coordination. I cant direct a team of 6 when only 3 can hear me.

6 RepliesWhoa whoa, you want EVERYONE in the tower to hear you? News flash, this game shouldn't be anyone's public chat room or ERP paradise. Teams is one thing. Open public chat is utter trash in games because there are hundreds of basement dwelling lunatics out there looking for things to ruin.
