[ Petition ] Bring chat to Destiny!

Destiny is pretty awesome. The graphics and gameplay are what I expected but the game is missing one crucial piece, and that's simple communication between players. We can't have a "MMO" FPS without communication Bungie.
I want to be able to press down on the d-pad, and have everyone within the tower, patrol session, or my multiplayer team hear me and I want to hear them back. Its just essential.
But I also recognize Bungie's problem with this. There are undoubtedly many age groups that play this game and having a wasted 21 year old college kid playing with a 14 year old can be both tricky and asinine.
So I want to start a petition and have this be heard and quantified for Bungie. Sign the petition if you agree with these two requests.
1 - Make it possible to chat with other players through a one button tap. Down on the d-pad works fine. I don't need to hear my team all the time, but I do want to be able to talk.
2 - At the character customization screen, add a personal information section where I can put my age and playing style. The information wouldn't be publicly shared but would be used to match people up based on that information.

I agree with this, my brother is a selective mute and I think plenty of others in the destiny can empathize with me. But I agree with this 100%

Bump but use another hot key D pad is for emotes - and I want to be able to map all my emotes while I'm at it not just left d pad

The fact they didn't have this in the first place, and haven't implemented it in the first year, leads to me to lose all hope in Bungie. They can make a bunch of emotes for us to pay for....but they can't give us what we've asked for since day one?.....pathetic....

Just add the game chat so we can hear each other and add a mute option. Also add game chat only matchmaking types. I don't want to have to send someone a message and tell them that there is an enemy around the corner they are running around.

From Deej, “Destiny's near-term solution will be to allow players to opt-in to voice communication during matchmade activities. Work on this feature was underway at launch and should be rolled out this year in Strikes and the Crucible.” Near-term is not now. Near-term is more like soon. ...... My response, now of idk if they plan on adding proximity chat or anything like that but the strike , pvp aspect is being created it just won't happen overnight.

I like the first request but not the second. Yeah sure it would be nice if everyone was paired by age but that's going to really -blam!- up the game. The point of this game is to have variety and have a community. If you start filtering people out you're going to be left with small groups. I'd rather play with everyone and just mute the little jackasses who want to be annoying. Everyone has had that annoying kid in their party, and everyone knows they just have to mute the bastard.

So to not have some sort of proximity chat system that you can turn off and on as the payer sees fit, is just plain stupid. Its pretty much saying "oh, this game is all about working together, communication, and team work. But your not allowed to talk to anyone other then 2 other people that have to be in your xbox live party, everyone else you have to run around in circles, jump up and down, shoot around, point and dance like a lunatic to try and convey a simple message such as HEY, OVER HERE" lol. Bungie, you put this in halo, so why the heck chose to absolutely ignore it in destiny?

Bring small proximity voice anywhere and a chat window that is similar to warframes for the tower.

If you wanna talk, sure, do it with friends. And if you meet a good player, add him/her. And while you do take notice of this negative you gloss right over it and suggest even more features (player age/type) to add. I hate to say it but I don't want to talk to some of the bads or leavers that I play with, while the good players i've met are already on my friends list.
