Could Destiny be The One?!?!
It's co-op/competitive, RPG/Endgame MMO, FPS/Third person dancing sim, it's open world yet streamlined, it's got customization in the best of forms, a promising story, a top tier developer, a top tier publisher, a ridiculously large marketing budget, commitment of ten years...
With all these ingredients I believe Destiny could be the perfect smoothie of game. It could be the chosen one, the game of all games (for mine and many others personal preference), the forbearer of video games to many a common man, the one game to rule them all, the Sultan of Swat, the King of Crash, Colossus of Clout, the Colossus of Clout! SHUT UP MIKEY! THE GREAT BAMBINO OF GAMES!
Ive been let down before...ACHOOOMOLYNEUX! I'm cautiously optimistic but, ladies and gentlemen... drumroll please... I BELIEVE DESTINY WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER!!! Period.

12 RepliesMy Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.

I truly believe Destiny will be able to stand out among the crowd, but do I believe it's going to be the videogame messiah? Nope. It'll sure as heck be fun to play though ;D

And another part of me can't help but think that its being hyped up so much that it can't possibly live up to all the hype. And another part of me can't wait to play it. Guess I'll find out which part of me is right on 9/9...

1 ReplyI can see from gameplay trailers that the game looks really well done the game looks like it has a very very interesting story and a lot to do, I believe it will be the game of the year, the maps too look very fun to explore and play on

PlayStation Division has been doing a crappy job of marketing its own sister division Sony Online Entertainment's games. PS4 owners should be more aware of Planetside 2.

4 RepliesDestiny has 1 big problem, which would be a double-edged sword: communication. There is no prox chat nor any text system put in place. The only ways left to talk to someone is inviting them or going to the forums. Its possible through the phone app, of course a text chat, but who wants to sit there texting with a phone. I guess its better then pulling up the message window on your console and using your controller to send something. I'm not sure where to stand on the idea of using your phone to communicate for a game. They might as well just put in a text-chat system and allow keyboards. Well, the arguments about the lack of communication for in Destiny is old and nothing is going to be done, so lets not bother. Point is it could just be one very annoying thing that makes Destiny weaker. At the same time nobody has to listen/read all the annoying lil punks talking shit.

I do think they have created their own genre with destiny and I think more games will come out of this I'm pretty sure we will see call of duty come more this way one day.

I'm hoping it'll be the best game ever but it'll be hard to keep up the greatest with other games that will come and if they have micro transactions I'd be a little disappointed in Destiny turning in to a pay to win game.
