Favorite Halo campaign?
In my opinion, Reach had the best campaign. Varied missions, atmospheric, fantastic score, and all in all excellent gameplay. I think people are too upset with the story to realize how well the gameplay is. (And please, the story had to be changed a little, it would be impossible to have a good story and gameplay mix based entirely around The Fall of Reach).
Halo 4 is my least favorite, as there was only one mission I really liked (the mammoth one). I didn't find the other levels that fun, and Prometheans were more annoying than fun to fight. Also, I wasn't a fan of the story
My order would go:
Reach > Halo CE > Halo 2 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo 3 > Halo 4

Basically, i think halo 3's was the best. It Took the elites, (or Gay aliens as me and my friends call them) And put them by your side. And because bungie put all those hidden skulls into the game. I though it was pretty fun to find and unlock all the hidden skulls and unlock new armor along the way.

Edited by A 3 Legged Goat: 8/25/2013 8:44:04 PMI like each one for different reasons and dislike each one for different reasons (except ODST), but I've replayed all of them again recently and I feel like I can get the most replayability out of them in this order: ODST H3 Reach H4 H2 CE I used to really enjoy Halo 2 and really dislike Reach. It's interesting how they've switched places now. None of this has anything to do with the story by the way; I don't play Halo for its story, and Halo 4 shows that most of it is in the books anyway.

Halo 2 > Halo CE > Halo 3 > ODST > Reach > Halo 4 I love all the campaigns down to and including ODST.

Halo: CE ODST Reach 2, 3 and 4 are on the same level.

Halo 4. It's really difficult taking such a lifeless character like Chief and developing him like they did. Bungie tried to do it in Halo 3 but I would say they weren't as successful as 343.

6 RepliesHalo 2 campaign is god tier. Not a single bad thing about it. Nuff said. ODST's is good. Good atmosphere and narrative. Fun missions. Halo 3's story was just closing everything so it wasn't special. Missions were fun though. CE is the polar opposite of 3. Reach's is full of (too much) retcon and it never picked up till Exodus. Had a few good missions. 4's has okay story but everything else just sucks.

Hm. That's really tough. Reach had very good gameplay, but I though the actual missions were lacking. Same with Halo 4, but Halo 4 had the best story IMO. Halo 2 had the best Easter eggs and glitches, ODST's free roam aspect with the whole atmosphere and music was also great. Halo 3 had a weak story but had 2 of my favorite missions ever, The Ark and The Covenant. Halo CE was just pure epicness.
