I know people do have bills and everything but its just sad how people choose which system they want over a $100 difference.
For something your gonna have for years I would think you'd get the one you want.
Inb4 I can buy 1 extra game!

2 RepliesIt's important to note that it's $100 cheaper because they unbundled the Eye. While I'm cheap by nature, I would also want all the components. So now you're talking a $40 difference or so. That's not nearly significant enough to drive my decision making.

I'm waiting for Ace Combat Infinity. That, and it's cheaper.

1 ReplyWell xbox one has titanfall

5 Repliesthis guy sums it up for me.

Edited by Cheesy: 9/28/2013 2:26:31 AMHere's an analogy for you: There are two sandwiches in a store. Both are very similar in structure, and only really differ in a few slices of meat or cheese. Along comes a man who likes both types of sandwiches. One sandwich goes for $4, and the other for $16. Now thinking logically, which one do you think the man will buy? If he likes each of them equally, he will choose the cheaper product because he doesn't need to spend an extra $12. Not because he's a "sad" man.

Well another reason to buy a xbox one is its sort of backwards compatibility. Plug your 360s hd cord into the one and voila you can split your screen with 360 games. I mean if it can play a ps4, receiver box, and anything with an HD Port why not a 360?

1 ReplyNot forcing me to buy a peripheral that I super don't want for starters. Slightly more gamecentric hardware inside is nice. Not being the guys who basically openly wanted to turn the game marketplace into a "Blade Runner style dystopia where corporations are gods" is a nice bonus. Yeah, they back peddled, doesn't change that they were shitting on consumer rights with promises of less that amazing trade offs for digital trading and sharing. Hell, even Steam is at least starting to investigate returns, trading and sharing. Oh, and yeah, I can buy more games with the $100 I save. Only downside is that Sony's online services are... Lacking... and their controller is less than amazingly designed, save for their d-pad.

id rather pay an extra $100 dollars for a good system
-
Edited by Egerspurge: 9/23/2013 4:50:15 AMIt's also based upon the simple principle of the fact that I don't want to be forced to pay for something I am never going to use.

Xbox one. Controller for fat hands
-
2 RepliesMaybe people don't want to support a console that was originally intended to -blam!- them over.
-
4 Replies$100 is a lot.. even when you take into consideration inflation.. That extra $100 could buy you a game and some DLC for it.. Or that $100 could buy you a four meals depending where you go to eat.

Edited by Saxoclone: 7/27/2013 11:31:51 PM
I know people do have bills and everything but its just sad how people choose which system they want over a $100 difference.
As someone who has always had to work to pay for my own luxuries, like games, this annoys me. $100 is a LOT of money. I'm a full time college student, so I have tuition and textbooks to worry about, doubly so because I don't have the time for a job on top of my school work during the year. I'm also currently trying to save up for a very expensive trip to GDC next year. When I was in high school and all I had to worry about was gas money and I was always working, money for luxuries like games seemed plentiful, but now I have to watch every penny I spend. There's also the fact that the extra $100 is justified by Microsoft with Kinect, yet they've failed to show any application of it that actually provides that value. Just a couple features that fall under the category of "nifty". But that's another matter entirely.

The Xbox and PS4 are virtually the same console - it's common sense for people to go the the cheaper one. If you went to a restaurant and there were two steaks, virtually identical, but one was $100 more expensive, you would be considered a fool to go for the expensive one. Sure, the analogy breaks down when you introduce exclusive games, etc., but at this stage, and for the first year, they will be pretty much identical.
-
That comes to anything you'd buy.. If someone wanted to buy a handgun.. say one hand gun was $400 and the other was $500.. People are going to choose the $400.. Why? They can buy a box of ammo for it and possibly and accessory as well. More bang for your buck if you will. Gaming is a nice hobby and it doesn't have to be expensive!
-
4 RepliesIts £80 cheaper which its roughly $120. That's enough for me to get PS+ and a copy if battlefields 4 with premium. Also the xbox seems like its aimed mostly at America seeing as the tv thing isn't available to us yet and because I know no one getting an xbox. Also I may have a 4 year account on xbox but I have no loyalty to any company, my loyalty is to my wallet.

It's a very simple choice to understand. The main difference in hardware is that the X1 costs an extra $100 because of Kinect, a peripheral that not many core gamers are interested in. Why spend $100 on something you don't want?
-
What I want to know is why so many people in this thread feel the need to justify their purchase, just buy what you want to buy, who cares what someone else thinks. Personally I'll be using a gaming PC and an Xbox One, if you're getting a ps4, fine, enjoy it, no need for everyone to argue.
-
4 RepliesIf you don't understand the value of $100 then you're clearly still living with your parents who but you everything.
-
Edited by Vgnut: 7/29/2013 12:53:54 AMShocking. Consumers are price sensitive. Been saying it since E3. That $100 is, and always has been, the Xbox One's biggest obstacle.

6 RepliesPs4 exclusives aren't amazing
-
3 RepliesUnless they want its exclusives, what other reason is there to buy an X1 over the PS4? When given the choice between two things that do pretty much the same thing, why wouldn't you go for the cheaper one?
-
59 RepliesActually I'm getting one over the Xbox One because it has better hardware, better games, a better and more advanced controller, the best value for the online subscription, the console itself is way smaller, has remote play, records my gameplay three times as long as the Xbox One, has indie support, it's easier to develop on thus multi platform games will run better on it, it has a more social experience, and my friends are getting it.
-
so everybody got a 360 because it was cheaper? Some xbox fans are really far too personally invested in this shit.
-
Edited by halo: 9/1/2013 8:23:29 PMWell it's cheaper and it's better. I don't see the benefit of having an Xbone unless you truly want those exclusives. The kinect will always be a useless gimmick.
-
2 RepliesBecause I'm a Sony fan is why I'm getting the ps4. Had a 360 and didn't care for it much. Also with PS+ you still get a better value and for $10 less than live. And who's to say that Microsoft won't push a mandatory update that ends up blocking used games? The kinect is always watching and listening while plugged in. Sorry but not for me.
