Gaming in Australia must suck.

You guys have fought for years for an adults only rating. YEARS. And yet the first game that was supposed to get that rating(saints row IV/State of decay take your pick) is denied classification because of some anal probe gun and use of drugs. Seriously? Why does your government seem hell bent on killing your fun?

  • Meh, there are other ways to have fun other than ultra-violent games.

  • While it does suck, you're wrong with the statement that they were to be the first to receive that rating (we've had about 15 or so). Still, it's incredibly frustrating that even as an adult I don't have complete control over what I can and can't play.

    • Actually I get the Saints Row one. That shit is way extreme. Also yeah some places still have morals.

No, it doesn't. I have no qualm with such games being banned, as I think they should—some things aren't fit for human consumption. The only downside to gaming in Australia concerns multiplayer. High latency makes it difficult to play in other countries, and the small Australian population makes it sometimes impossible to play an online match in particular games.

    • It's like two games banned a year (if that), which can be bought... on ebay. It's really not as bad as people make it out to be. Just the principle that the government does this is the annoying bit.
