Unfortunately that’s what Bungie does, they nerf based off usage. The marlet is next most likely, the brand new shiny, mid pulse rifle with good perks that carry it, even the horrors least feels better but rolls with not as good perks.

  • They don't do that in pve lol. He's talking about a pve exotic. Pvp, little more complicated.

  • They've done it in pve. They nerfed Queenbreaker which was one of the most used weapons but on a dps chart it wasn't even in the top 10. They also nerfed Tlord even though before the nerf someone found that even legendary lmgs could actually outdamage it. There was Witherhoards 2nd nerf which didn't make sense when the weapon was already sucking terribly Izi's nerf Skyburner's nerf (Yes it got a nerf before being reworked later) Not technically a nerf but Ex Diris which sucked for almost a year was supposed to get a 20% buff but they decided against it simply because the 2 moth spawns from mothkeeper made it a popular pick for the season they planned the buff it in. Divinities 2nd nerf (The one made it so instead of like 10 ammo to create the cage it became more like 30 ammo and that to keep the cage up instead of like 3 ammo needing to hit every second it became like 6 ammo every second) I can keep the list goin but I think you get the point they do nerf on usage in pve.

Hallowfire. Went from 100% ability regen (200% when super is charged) to like a 20% regen and you can create *1* sunspot with a solar weapon kill every like 10 seconds. Ursa it's now better than before but it initially got a nerf that wasn't needed. Nerf was an overall nerf to all super exotics which was done because of a few and that was making it only be able to cap at 50% refund. Which ursa just wasn't really worth using already outside of VERY specific spots (Like hallways in gms that have no cover) Point Contact initially it was bad, it got buffed, then despite actually being a decent exotic they decided to rework it and the rework was mostly just a nerf. Nerf was reduced energy gain by a LOT but in return lightning kills granted energy. Issue is though even killing 3 was enough to recharge the melee now you need to kill 10 in order to get a recharge. Class item star eater which was nerfed due to nova bomb but they went ahead and nerfed all single use supers with it that aren't Hunter supers. I know it was a bug fix but tbh I'm counting pyrogale since the damage it dealt was LOWER than what most supers do currently. Plus they did also nerf it by reducing the tracking. Icefall mantle. While now its a buff when they reworked it, it was a BIG nerf. It went from a 100 overshield that gave 62.5% dr and a 22% damage buff for stasis weapons to 30% dr no overshield no damage buff. Later they buffed the frost armor to be 60% so it's actually good now. Edit: Also burning steps. Went from every 2 kills grants a 10% buff that caps at 40% to every 2 kills grant a surge basically meaning 8%, 13%, 18%, 22%. Making it FAR worse + you now need to run mods as before it lasted like 20 seconds now it lasts depending on surges so 10-20-30 depending on how many mods are equipped.
