Most guns already have a quest to get the catalyst for the weapon, some being short like tractor cannon, where you do whatever stuff you normally do, earn it, then kill stuff with it. But then there’s other weapons that have insanely long catalyst objectives, like duality that requires 300 core playlist completions, or symmetry that requires 100 strike completions. and then, on top of that, you have to kill more stuff just to get it, like every other catalyst. it should be one or the other, either complete the quest and instantly get it, or kill stuff and get it.

1 ReplyPersonally, I look up what the catalyst actually adds to the weapon (if anything) and make a determination as to whether or not I think it's worth the effort to get it. There are some that just don't provide a benefit worth all the firey hoops it takes to get the thing, so I don't bother.

1 ReplyThe only catalysts I always found ‘annoying’ to going through are the ones for Season Passes (I.e Symmetry, Leviathan’s Breath, Duality, etc.), considering they no longer have that seasonal boost to help them. Any suggestions other than just Mass grinding?

Some are rng drops from certain activities while others are guaranteed by completing a quest. All require kills to unlock once acquired.
