I agree. I used to love the game D1 was great but had it's own failings like the drop chance, same with D2.
I began to hate the game shortly after Cade 6 died. once they made it so we had to grind for days and spend all of our money on one or two newly required materials from the Spider just to upgrade and infuse one or two weapons or gear per week or more likely two weeks, I was out.
It went from playing for fun, and being able to upgrade all your weapons and gear once twice or even three time per week, per character, and literally overnight to grinding and grinding and grinding away for weeks until your face and fingers were numb, just to be able to infuse one or two things on just one character.
I came back during COVID, and I had to grind with all three characters just to get my Titan to near max light during the shutdown. Then the new season came out and all of my gear, all of my weapons, and everything but exotics in my volt became useless. Then they made the decision to make PVP Light level advantage, so if you only play on the weekends or left for months or years and decided to come back, you wouldn't stand a chance. two rockets and every mag of all your guns could kill someone 10 levels above you, but they could kill you with one bullet from an AR or SMG.
You would have to grind with garbage slow fire rate low damage common guns through PVE until you got a slightly less garbage legendary. Any and all of your previously acquired fast fire rate mid/high damage legendary guns that used to be great in both PVP and PVE are useless because they no longer support being infused, so you have to dismantle them, just for all of that to happen again, and start all over next season. There is no reword at the end to justify the hours grinding.
Destiny 2 became a never ending grind, that required it to be your full time job in order to make any progress, it stopped being a game, and stopped being fun years ago. This is why so many OG gamers and streamers left and never came back. and if they did come back, like I did, they realized it was worse then when they originally left, then wiped their hands of it, and uninstalled the game for good.
I miss what Destiny used to be, and miss the friends I made. I still think about coming back, but quickly remember the hell that would await me. It's heart breaking since Bungie made Halo what it was, and it was the best game until 343 took over development.

Well said. All my friends left when they realized they can’t have a life outside the game and enjoy everything the game has to offer at the same time. I’m the only one dumb enough to stick around. 😅
