When a new DLC launches the game suddenly feels very empty(more so than some may generally think).
In my opinion, the game should cycle seasons out instead of dumping them. So currently we only have season of Defiance. When we should have Season of the Haunted, Plunder, and Seraph. Then when season of the Deep comes out we drop Haunted and gain the Deep.
I think this would help out other players from being tossed out so quickly and may manage fomo slightly better.

Yeah that makes sense, i skipped seraph so this would be great.

Aren’t they already unofficially doing this with some things? I think some of the content from previous seasons has stuck around, and I think I remember them saying that most of it would until the 1 year mark.

4 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 5/18/2023 3:19:11 AMWouldn't surprise me if Bungie finds it safer to remove seasons after a year rather than on a seasonal basis, considering this games code its most likely the case removing seasons each year keeps the game more "stable".
-
no thanks. seasonal content is rarely that good, and as a regular player i'm pretty much done with it after one full season.
-
7 RepliesOr you know... keep all the content in the game that people have paid for.

14 RepliesSeasons as a whole feel empty. They are just pointless filler content

2 RepliesI dont think the game can handle that much content at one time

Edited by Prism: 5/18/2023 11:27:38 PMSeasons are that one Ravioli which is supposed to have a filling but ends up being a pocket of air aka empty of anything good
-
Yeah it's pretty dumb how the earlier seasons are active for the whole year & the later ones get less time to be completed.
-
It could also help story telling a lot

You can do basically that by waiting till the last few months of the year. When I came back during season of the splicer I had so much content to do it was overwhelming.

1 ReplyUnfinished season passes, of exceeded seasons, should be available. Halo: The Master Chief Collection has this option. + There's more games as Destiny 2.
-
This would be really nice. Don’t know if it’s a technical limitation or Bungie just being Bungie, but this’d be a huge QoL improvement. I have a couple of buddies that skipped out on plunder and parts of Seraph that are really missing out on some of the seasonal guns (scout and sidearm mostly from Plunder + most Ikelos stuff from Seraph)

Ideally, I agree, but I don't think that's very doable rn. Remember this game and any update it has will have to fit on a stock ps4/Xbox One since we're still stuck carrying obsolete tech. Basically it would restrict the space they have to update other things, add locations, activities, etc., especially since they're no longer sunsetting expansion content (which is good). But yeah would be nice. Even if they carried just the previous season as well for catch-up/returning player purposes. We'll see.

3 RepliesI made a post about this. After the Final Shape, the game will be announced that for one year after TFS ends, Bungie will have a small crew continuing to support the game. All 4 Season Events will still come thru like normal with no changes to how they were previously. After that year, the game will "be abandoned" . ( Just like oh Marvel Avengers was handled in March) Starting fresh on the new year, Seasons will rotate in a cycle ( seasons will be from Forsaken to TFS ) and they will be random each new season on a knock out list and then refresh. All Eververse content will now be strictly DUST cost ( Silver to be removed ) . Every Item / Ornament ever in the game/eververse will be added to Eveverse. ( Im talking Everything since Eververse started in D2 Launch. ) All Raid Exotics past and present to be added to Exotic vault. All Vendor weapons to Exotic Vault. All Locations since Forsaken to be brought back with its content and seals for players to patrol and go after seals/ explore. So, pretty much everything is just unlocked for the players to go do and play. No dev support unless its critical game breaking.

2 RepliesWish we could back to an Annual pass model
-
Defeats the purpose of the game then. Just reuse old things? They already do that with everything in the game. Dont start with the activities and raids now
-
When I came back to destiny during the last weeks of Season of the seraph I had so much to do. Was extremely fun. It made me wanna buy lightfall. Now we've only got the one season and outside of raiding with my clan or doing GMs, there's not much left to do. I've been working on 6 I'll be damned if I sit down and finish all the season triumphs. Defiance was kinda lame an I feel like the last 4 seasons were put together a lot better
-
Edited by BC1 Edge: 5/18/2023 2:37:08 PMSo essentially one season should be around for about a year? This will definitely help the FOMO rather then feel the need to get things done in three months. It sounds like a great idea but bungie will never go for it.
-
3 Repliesbungie will probably do this after the game is finished, and it will be managed by a live service skeleton crew.
-
Makes too much sense and also Bungie wants to sell the new seasons upfront, if people have stuff to do still, they are less likely to buy the new season package. All marketing strategie by the most scummy, capitalistic, trash company on the planet.

1 ReplyWould this not -blam!- the storyline up Play light fall then season 2,3,4 of witch queen

This. I thought of it this a while ago. That way 4 seasons are always active. Just phase out the oldest one
