It shouldn't be a slog to do a Hero matchmaking nightfall.

2 out of 3 random matchmaking teams need to be carried. People can't seem to keep themselves alive. It's longer. It's grindtastic. AND IT'S BORING! This is supposed to be entry-level content, and our light is capped at 1765, so that ain't it. Go back to last season's difficulty which was pretty close to perfect. Seraph station, "chef's kiss." Lower the floor and raise the ceiling.

  • The skill level of so many is horrific. People still dont' bring mods to the party. They can't stay alive and run into everything head long. Bungie is literally gating more skilled players by having them play with less skilled players. It takes longer to complete if you can stomach staying in the team. Constantly matching with rank 2-5 players.. sorry but, I don't want to teach them how to play and by removing the lower easier entry level playlist.. It sucks.

    • I read these forums from time to time to see when I am having difficulty in the game. It seems to be a known issue from many players, but nobody seems to address the difficulty? I die a lot in legendary mode and wouldn't even try in heroic because my gear is not high enough yet. The difficulty extends to alot of content in that guys seem to appear from the side or behind you out of thin air or bullet snipers with unlimited range to one shot boss fights. Not sure what the developer is thinking here as most of us are not streaming yt or playing professional video games. Yet the gear becomes unavailable unless playing god level dificulty. Broke -blam!- -blam!-. And I'm nice by throwing in quarters in the machine from time to time when I'm gaming hard. What a turn off when I read stuff like this.

      • Splash dmg is just incredibly over tuned in all levels of activities now. You just die incredibly fast if you are not standing jn a well or have an over shield.

        • Really get a kick out of the players saying get gud ,skill issue etc... When just running a hero strike at least 25% of the time someone leaves then its a 2 player revive fest and waste even more time. Bungie really needs to look into why people leave playing a strike, think they know the game is tilted right now for a majority of players. I'm not talking about the sweaty players they will just sweat a little more, but just your average trying to have some fun players . I don't think it would hurt anything at all if they had hero strikes a little toned down. Heck there is always legend and master and GM's if you want that level of play. But the one major problem I see is there is zero match making for those activity's. It still amazes me they have not implemented at least 1 match making for a easier legend mode. Does anyone have a answer why they have not done that ? is it a server capacity problem ? would it cost them more money to do so. Don't know but it really has been a problem with the game for some time. I still say open this stuff up let the players have what they paid for . Forget power creep we are guardians after all . As ol rahol at the tower says, "you got to prepare and adapt" They should take his advice.

          • I didn’t realize how bad people are at this game till today. Lol. No wonder bungie has to dumb everything down in this game. Had to leave two hero nightfalls. HERO. Because my 2 randoms died back to back to back in the first two encounters of the nightfall. I didn’t even want to find out how many rez they would need at the final boss room xD

              • I jumped in hero this week with my warlock and died quickly because I was playing foolishly thinking it was as easy as before. But after I got my s**t together it isn't that difficult. I carried a few blueberries. Had no problem doing that. We were all once new to the game. Otherwise you can always jump on lfg and do legend or higher.

              • Lol just give it another week! This is normal every expansion. Once players truly reach cap and obtain the new exotic gear its going to be a breeze. This happens every major Destiny release.....does nobody remember Forsaken lol!? Normal enemies killed us outright back then at launch lol

I think many folks are not using all the tools given to make things manageable, Strand is an insane tool with the proper grenade to literally pick and chose your fights, surge gives you a bump in damage overcharged also helps with this I am not some great player, average at best and I dont find hero lvl nightfalls challenging

                • i think revision zero and a glaive is perfect for proving grounds. revision can counter snipers / tanks and barrier champs. glaives can block the bosses balls he throws at you, as well as stun unstops. but the best way to take down the force field no idea, i let the other more mobile capable younglings do that part.

                    • If we lower the floor, we go back to Weenie Hut Jr mode, and we're alreeady doing a good job weeding that out. No reason to turn back now. There will always be a portion of the community that is bad at the game. Always. No matter what the difficulty.

                      • I enjoy the Hero NF as it is. I rarely do co-op so it’s fun doing something a little more challenging that is match-made.

                          • I ran a couple yesterday and we didn't do too bad, couple newer guys who were putting an effort in so I support them of course. If I run solo, I always expect them to be unprepared so I just run all champ breaking weapons, double lock stasis turrets with osmio and focus on support only and it usually goes smoothly and if I get good players then we really rip through the content really well.

                            • The hero MM is the reason why l would never want to see forced MM in every high-end activity in the game. 90% of the people in Hero NF's and even in Bg's do not have a clue how to stun champs or even know the mechanics for certain areas. These are easy if people use their brain and use the right gear

                                • This is why I have stop using the matchmaking options The game hasn’t got harder the smart players play with friend/lfg so the matchmaking pool is full of idiots which make the game seem harder

                                  • I have had the opposite experience. Every now and again the team needs to be "carried". Ran this weeks last night a bunch of times(4 or 5 I think), and they all felt about the same to me. I would say it all depends on the Nightfall. Proving Grounds is actually pretty fun IMO. Lake of Shadows has always been annoying, regardless of length. There are others that I probably would skip. I don't know, I guess I go into matchmaking with the intent of not being the worst on my team. Try to support as best I can regardless of activity. I have friends I play with that are more trouble than any matchmade group LOL. Bottom line, I think the "difficulty" is fine.
