Lets be clear first and foremost, bungie didn't start looking into this until big daddy byf started to mention anything. Its only when bigger names livelihoods begin to suffer that things are done eh? And how disrespectful he was to you guys as well? The fact that he spoke for the whole youtube community threatening they would all move on and get another job?
Right, real smooth there on his end? Real "respectful" for you huh?
Don't think his original tweets went unnoticed. Its all in the link provided.
Anyway, on to the mystery gang!
Some possibilities are in play here to consider...
1) CCs on youtube, big and small are getting emails from jeremywilandCsc
This is allegedly an employee from CSC media, a company that was bought by Sony years ago.
This company went defunct 3 years ago. Either it ceased services and its some elaborate hoax or these people work under a different banner.
2) Its actually bungie.
https://youtu.be/ThiekRQkmbY
Take a moment to view the youtube video here by hoeglaw. It depicts bungies rules in their guildlines section.
The beginning portion of the video:
Sans issuing a formal license to produce content - this is every streamer and CC, (at about 10:30, the rest comes to light) Bungie wrote their policy in a very vague way that allows them to take down whatever they want when they want. Although generally, a common word they use, they wont....yet they can.
Why would they? Its because they can exercise it. They reserve the right to ban people without explanation, its no suprise they can issue strikes.
Both possibilities are on the table and the CMs are now aware of it and state a meeting is being held for Monday 3/22/22 .
Yea...way to go.. can't dissapoint lore daddy right? Its only US and WE the community when his livelihood is threatened and yet
Shadowban and move on.
Use scorched earth tactics.
Those people are sycophants, ignore them.
I'll never forget the hypocricy you people facilitate.

2 RepliesPeople should take a closer look at Sony, cause this whole debacle started right after Sony bought Bungo!
-
3 RepliesGenerally not a hate Youtubers person but Byf is among my least favorites. Seems to treat himself more like a historian for a video game than just a lore guy like other Youtubers. Anyways good post otherwise. Pretty sure Bungie said that it was happening to themselves too so who knows but people are overreacting.
-
26 RepliesI think what's happening is fantastic. Ban them all. Time for full time gamers to move on and quit ruining games for the rest of us.

6 RepliesI want to live in a world where this important……

Edited by SomarYNot: 3/21/2022 11:54:06 PMThen move on and get another job big bad byf I'm sure he can be a radio dj with that voice

I’ve never understood how streaming (especially for money) someone’s “ip” was legal and allowed…
-
1 ReplyObviously they only noticed when Byf started talking about it, he has a much larger presence than other creators. It’ll get sorted out in the next few weeks.
-
1 ReplyAnd just last week people were hating on streamers

2 Replies🍿🍿🍿🍿 👍🤣👍
🏌️♀️⛳
The spoiler is me playing golf, or trying to play 🤣

1 ReplyIts not a bungie thing its a copyright thing....all copyright are written this vague Not the 1st time it happened and won't be the Last How about you grow up and move on instead of trying to find any little thing to hate on the company? Because right now this is just sad to see you spent that much time making up proof but could not look into YouTube past fiasco of the same variety .....
-
1 ReplyCommunity: we hate streamers and content creators! Community when those streamers/ content creators get accidentally copyrighted: Bungie is stupid. Let the streamers have there content!
-
Of course little people who get ruined don't matter but the moment it touch aztecross, byf, and esoterikk then its an issue. Not saying they deserve to get screwed but this has been a known thing for a while and I remember someone posting here about it and Bungie said and did nothing. Bungo deserves no pass on this at all. The clowns even copyright struck Bungie themselves, the dude doing this is either a child or its intentional.

15 RepliesMan the amount of deranged, gremlin super nerds who have some complex where they hate streamers/youtubers is insane on this forum. This place is infested with them, spewing out all this ignorant filth all over the place. These goblins have no clue what they are even talking about. They are so weird that they actually think Byf is some youtuber who "ruins the game", because they don't even know he just makes lore videos and never says anything about gameplay stuff. That is how deranged they are. They just hear he's a youtuber and then write their own narrative about him and spew hate and wish that his livelihood has a negative impact for no reason at all other than they are incredibly miserable and they want everyone else to be miserable as well. It's F'd up.

"Threatening" like 99% of us give a -blam!-. 🤣. Trash.

9 RepliesConsidering this post was made 11 hours ago, it would have been made after bungie already confirmed that they werent the ones doing this, and that whoever was has been claiming videos on bungies official youtube channel. So you had access to that info, and still made this whole situation out beat to fit your anti bungie rant.

1 ReplyThe policy is more like "Hey. We aren't going to explicately give you the rights to use game content in streams and other content creation, but if you follow these guidelines, we probably won't go after you, even though you're clearly infringing upon this agreement." That is "the trap," and it is pretty common if you just go read some ToCs from other devs too. The game industry is a whole lot of bureaucratic BS. The question for content creators at this point is simple: Do you know the attitude of the devs and the legal team, and do you know how quick they'll be to take down a YouTube video? Up until this point, it was fairly obvious from the start where the current Bungie devs stood when it came to content creation. Just look at all the Twitch giveaways (unique emblems and shaders) and the content creator events at Bungie HQ. So it was pretty clear most of the creators were fine. And then something (and we all know what that was) recently changed, which changed the answer to my previously mentioned question. But eh. Aztecross got his strikes removed this morning, so clearly Bungie is moving quickly.

Regarding all these Content creators who want to prioritise only them and not give 2 hoots about the rest of the community, Let us simply remind you, the Community Made you into what you are today, We can just as easily UNMAKE you if you opt to piss on us. Just something to be aware of. the big guys in the Content creator space, as i like to call the DCM (Destiny Content Mafia) only care abou themselves and eachother, if anything them not speaking up for the little guy is like planned, they dont want the extra competition. their still a buissness and brand first and foremost.

Edited by ryebar: 3/21/2022 6:09:32 PMThere’s a saying. “Never bite the hand that feeds” In this scenario it’s complicated who is actually buying the groceries. Bungie’s benefits/game sales, etc from the content creation. Content creators make money from subs or donations from those watching the info presented from Bungie’s game. It’s a win-win for both parties. This will get fixed.
-
2 RepliesWho? Also, Bungie themselves are getting hit by the copyright and their videos are getting blocked.

Only ever saw one of his videos, it was the one where he was moaning about Bungie not giving him the title content curator or something, he came across as a bit naive and entitled to be honest, not entertaining enough to seek out any of his other stuff. Was surprised he actually thought a corporation with lawyers would give him any more than the minimum credit for work done, it's fairly standard practise in any walk of life nowadays, protects against any claims in future if you can minimise peoples input. As I said, he comes across as a bit naive.
