There really doesn’t even feel like a point to the game mode. I go in, get kills without any skill at all, it’s all mostly luck. It doesn’t make me feel like I’m a good player, it certainly shouldn’t make my enemies who are getting lucky kills feel like good players. There feels like no skill at all, I can go on a 4-player kills streak and feel like I didn’t earn it, then die a sad and unceremonious death to someone else who happens to get lucky. And that’s really where it comes down to, the mode doesn’t feel good to play cause every kill feels like it was luck and not skill. I hate seeing steak Scorched pop up in the seasonal challenges every season cause it means I gotta go sit through a mind-numbing 30 minutes of the most boring and unfulfilling mode in the game
This is definitely more a rant post, but like… does anyone else feel like this mode is pointless and cranky detrimental to the game?
Edit: the mode is so inconsistent that I can get a direct hit and not get a kill but then get killed by a direct hit from that enemy, and then also get kills from not direct hits at all. And they make it sound like there is strategy to the whole “you can delay the blast” mechanic, but.. does anyone actually do that? And if they do, are you really that much more successful than just spray and pray? Just everything about the mode feels really half-a**ed. Who works at Bungie’s QC that lets stuff like this slide? Never have I seen a more inconsistent and lame game mode

1 ReplyRight no skill but it's the only mode were everyone is literally running the same weapon, there are no abilities, and most stats don't matter. It's the only mode were your performance is a direct reflection of your mastery of movement, timing, and instinct. Sure the explosions can be unpredictable on occasion, but direct hits still kill and detonating a scorched shot within 5 meters can kill. You'd be surprised how many people don't realize that you can detonate the cannon shots mid air by holding and releasing the trigger. Not too mention scorch cannons are not hit scan, meaning you have to predict your targets movement and aim ahead. So yeah there is a decent amount of skill required compared to most other weapons in game.

22 RepliesWhoa whoa buddy, no one disses Team Scorched! Just kidding. But yes, the game mode is inconsistent, I believe the fun part of Team Scorched is the rocket jump part. Team Scorched should honestly get a little overhaul, in terms of physics and how the Scorch cannons interact. Your point does not stand of luck, Team Scorched requires a bit of timing, which lf course requires a bit of skill. You can't just get lucky when shooting someone midair, there is no fuse to blow up near a person like the German Flak 8.8 has in video games. If you can even get 4 kills which have people midair die, you should be proud. Not alot of people can pull off such timings. Analysis of Team Scorched: Needs Overhaul but it's fine as it is.
