Rough Intro for Returning players launched directly into Dares of Eternity
My friend finally came back to Destiny and gets launched directly into Dares of Eternity. He was 1100 being matched with other level 1100s for a 1150 activity. They didn't have artifacts so they didn't have champion mods. The fireteam kept at it by they were dead most of the time. I was able to get in when there was an opening and help get them through it. I was just wondering if bungie might want to adjust this for new/Returning players. It doesn't seem to be a good "welcome back to Destiny" experience.

1 ReplyObviously been picked up on by lots of higher level players. Been helping out with this over the last couple of days and seems to average around 4 higher level players with 2 newbies. Some of the level 1 players are actually very good. You can tell by their playstyle that it's not their first rodeo. Despite this their kill count is in single digits. Brings back memories of me trying to kill the hive downstairs on the cosmodrone in D1. They all had ? marks above their head and scared the crap out if me.

There have been a fair few players, (including myself) who have been going into dares will low level gear/weapons, then swapping to our normal stuff, to help new lights. Usually works out at 1-3 new lights per run

1 ReplySpent my night going in under leveled (all white gear) to help these players out. Once you’re accepted into the Que put on your leveled gear and weapons.

1 ReplyBeen helping players for a few days with this issue. But, what this shows is a TOTAL lack of management and communication from every department at Bungie. Somewhere there was a complete breakdown because if any of a few hundred employees even tried DOE with a new character (because I can assure you not everyone is running 3) they would have immediately saw a major problem. A few new lights messaged me and thanked me for the help, but are not coming back. If people have a really bad experience out of the gate, then I don't blame them for bailing regardless if it is a game developer, an airline, a home builder, etc.

I’m gonna equip only 1100 power gear and get matched into one and help the little lights out when I get in equipping max gear stuff to slay. Can’t wait to help out some new lights until the thing gets patched.

A few folks have been having this issue, simplest fix is your ghost and the orbit option though it's a bit of a dull thing to do to your team

I don't know why they force you to play a dumb mode with champions. They forced level grouping and team balance in pve is dumb there is no need for that in pve its a completely different experience. I hate carrying but that is the only exception to the rule nobody should be kidnapped and locked in I dare you to escape prisoner edition.

If they are a returning player they should know that bungie does this everytime new content drops. Just rxit to orbit and then go wherever you need. I read paul tassis article on this. Read like people just assume new light players are incredibly dumb. Even if youve never played before it doesnt take a genius to figure out you can just leave the activity. Although i do think bungie needs to stop this with all new content. I hate logging in and being forced in to an activity.

12 RepliesJust learned about this today. Find this to be utterly disgusting that Bungie hasn't disabled autoplay for seasonal stuff. This needs to be fixed asap. I will spend most of tomorrow going into Dares with low level armor to try to match with new players and then swap to my normal loadout once in to help out. Bungie has to step up for new players, both in this and pvp.
