Title, d1 armor looked so much better at times when compared to d2, rare sets like Locus Watcher for warlocks were in the cover art for the game and barely got any recognition, so why not bring it back like the prodigal set in forsaken? Or even in the form of ornaments!
I just want to be able to make a more classic looking warlock/titan.... I don't play hunter much but I feel like theres a lot more classical looking armor sets.

I would like to see the old Faction Armor sets from D1 especially. I miss my New Monarchy D1 Titan armor

11 RepliesPeople are gonna come for you for saying this but I want you to know you’re 100% right. ALL D1 armor has significantly better designs. It’s obvious different people designed the D2 gear. Even the green armor in D1 looks better than the majority of earnable sets in D2. All the good ones are in Eververse. And the prodigal sets, which are from D1. And the VoG sets, and the original trials sets. Nothing in D2 comes close. Everything in D2 feels out of place and doesn’t fit the art style of the first game. Too cartoonish. And don’t even get me started on titan gauntlets and warlock Robes. The robes used to have a cool futuristic trench coat look to them. Now most of them are sparkly dresses with wide shoulders. Even the D2 Titan helmets piss me off. They’re all so wide and clunky for no reason. And the amount of detail on a lot of the D2 armor is atrocious. Literally any green set in D1 looks more in line with the universe than anything in D2. Why does the Europa set have radios and backpacks? Our ghost is our radio and it also transmats everything we need there is no need for a sleeping bag attached to our gear. They went too crazy with the themed gear. Bring back normal looking armor. Sorry for the rant. Also everything in D2 is too bright and shiny. Bring back the grit.

3 RepliesD1 armor actually looked like armor.
-
id like them to revisit D1 armor with some artistic liberties something old and new
-
Cause eververse wasn’t as prominent. Welcome to mxt hell, there are consequences.

Edited by DeathPony07: 11/10/2021 12:09:24 PMI just want the Age of Triumph raid set ornaments and shaders, and the Iron Lord's ornaments.

-blam!- yes

To me, the only type of armor D1 did better was the rugged explorer type sets. Overall D2 is more varied and creative. Nothing I had in D1 looked as good as what I have on my Warlock now that I finally have a helmet and not a cereal box on my head. Thank god for Pathfinders Visor. A lot of players I notice at the Tower dont really try combining different types of armors and shaders to get the look they want. For example, you can make a Hunter/Ranger Warlock using Philomath Cover and Gloves, Braytech Boots, Rite of Refusal Bond and the Boreal Defiant or Veist Fieldscout Shader and it would look like those sets from D1 you like.

i like the how well the parts go together all d1 titan sets

Miss my original Titan iron banner gear & red death. 🥲

Give me back my damn flayer mantles you cowards.

1 ReplyWhere is my damned Spektar Armor! And Chroma mods for it!!!!

9 RepliesNo D1 armor is trash, D2 armor is wayy better kid. Also shut up about D1 it was beat out by Borderlands 2 in every way. Not even a great game.
-
No kidding. Look how cool d1 stuff was. Warlocks had changable shoulder armor…

The sad part is this post or feedback has been long sought after by the community. However you should’ve put it on Reddit or Twitter,Bungie does not look at their forms they don’t take feedback from their forms, every time they respond to play or feedback it’s either on Reddit or Twitter.

“Don’t worry, I won’t have you lashed to a cross like the rest of these blueberries. It’s useful that you happened by.” Seriously though, D1 Iron banner sets put all the D2 ones to shame.

It’s hard to mess up the hunter armor. But there are definitely some warlock and titan sets that look amazing. And while I agree that some of the D1 armor looked really cool, the armor now isn’t holding any sentimental value which is why I think it’s judged harsher.
-
1 ReplyHonestly, most d1 Titan armor was hideous. Hunter armor was alright and warlock looked amazing. All 3 classes have great looking armor in d2, so I personally don't think bringing armor back to be necessary outside of future remastered raids.
-
I somewhat agree, however in terms of style i think D2 trial of the nine flawless armor glows should set a standard for D2 style of armor more specifically the glowing effect for end gear content like raids and trials. If there was any armor from D1 definitely the trials y3 armor sets, i loved the aesthetics of the trials armor like the titan was a scarab beetle, warlock cobra and hunter Egyptian cat. The flawless ornament glows for them specific sets were amazing, im unsure why D2 end game content ornaments/armor isn't anything like D1 in terms of aesthetics... Hopefully Bungie implement some great looking "glowy" ornaments/armor come witch queen era.

2 RepliesEdited by Jinx: 11/9/2021 7:56:01 AMA big change was an effort to make fem armor more non objectifying like masc armor. D1 tended to heavily outline the fem figure where as d2 made efforts to not objectify the fem body frame.
-
Even the Trials Flawless glows looked better back then too. Also, if i remember correctly, you could toggle a special ornament on each piece for the Flawless glow if you want it showing or not... And they lasted more than just one week!

-blam!- was ages ago. I don't even remember what half of D1 armor looked like.
-
4 RepliesNgl bro you are so right, especially when it comes to raids, new raids are nothing when you think about things like kings fall, that armour set was so sick
-
1 ReplyEdited by Double07: 11/8/2021 5:02:35 PM
Title, d1 armor looked so much better at times when compared to d2
Do you mean Bungie should put actual effort into non-Eververse armor?

Edited by NVMYGT: 11/9/2021 3:26:32 AMWhen we got Age of Triumphs in D1 we got the best looking armor we ever got. Its a bit lengthy because it has all sets of ornaments for all 3 Characters but it is definitely worth a look.

1 ReplyThank you!!! The main reason my 12-year-old self picked up D1 in the first place was because it looked awesome, especially the armor. For the most part, D2 armor looks sooo bad. I main Titan and the first set I transmoged (gagging noise) was the prodigal set, followed by VoG and the blue hard case set. Same thing goes for Warlock and Hunters. On a separate note, I want to say that aesthetics do matter in Destiny. So many people say that they don’t care about the way that gear looks, which is ok, but the reality is that some people want their guardian to look good, and, in my opinion, D1 armor is still the best.
