Not anymore. Bungie messed that up too now
-
20 RepliesThis. I agree. Solos only play when there is freelance. Teach the sweats a lesson.

10 RepliesEdited by MiddleAgedRage: 10/26/2021 2:08:23 PMWell looking at the numbers it really is the way to go. 100k more players than last week and its not a great map or great rewards. So yeah the numbers speak for themselves I guess.
-
3 RepliesI just feel they need to get rid of the level advantage, especially during freelance. You can't have balanced teams when everyone is outputting different dmg.
-
14 RepliesLove how all the "pros" are dead against it, shame their "git gud" attitude was why everyone wanted freelance, enjoy your long queue times! 😅
-
2 RepliesI enjoyed it. Would play more trials this way.
-
If it was once a month It would help keep the player base active. Having it every week or dissappear completely won't benefit the playlist.
-
1 ReplyWhat’s it matter for you? I guarantee you’re still getting the same low KD and no flawless result like normal. Can’t you see it’s the same for you regardless of what matchmaking pool you go into? All freelance is doing is marking normal match making slightly sweatier with zero benefit for the bad player because their result will always be the same until they improve at the game
-
1 ReplyDidn't play it, but I got DMT with catalyst because everyone has a crutch in trials.
-
1 ReplyThe balancing is kinda off. Matching the three best players on the same team for a quick 5-0 happened quite a bit.
-
2 RepliesI thoroughly enjoyed playing this weekend in freelance. I lost most of my matches but I won slightly less than half my rounds, and I felt challenged without being totally overwhelmed, it felt pretty evenly matched much of the time and only a few matches where I got curbstomped by players with inhuman reflexes or wiped the floor with people so inept that they made me look like a pro, they were in that sweet spot where it felt hard but even as a slightly below average player I held my own enough that it was actually fun. Got a bunch of nice loot, and that celerity perk is actually really useful in PVE too when you're trying to hold out long enough to revive teammates in nightfalls. Also I lucked out in that Cauldron is one of my absolute favorite maps in general and that helped me a bit.

Thankfully Bungie put it and I hope they make permanent just so you all can shut up about it.

Edited by Umadfalala: 10/27/2021 7:50:18 PM"WE at bungie have heard you guardians! Freelance was q smashing success! Games played was way up, players were up, the posts on the forums were almost all positive, that's why we wanted to tell you about some amazing new changes coming to the game. - vex and chaperone are having their range boosted an extra 100m and aim assist is being increased 22% with no more negative when airborne. - shatterdive now works up to 10m away (I know you guys have been talking constantly about shatterdive, ENJOY! WE WERE LISTENING!!) - solo matchmaking is awful, we see that and we are sorry. SO we have implemented "RAMBO MODE", now solos que up solo and don't get matchmade while matched against a 3 stack! Exciting! - reduced tier 3 token season of the lost armor stats by 30% - nerfed all sparrows to 150 to meet player demand for always on time to not be the only usable sparrow, also increased damage taken by enemies to all sparrows by 70% TO INCREASE THE EXCITEMENT! - Reduces gamit reputation rewards by 50% and revised the 2x rep weeks to 0.2×reputation weeks. Look at all the new content that adds!! - added 14 new stealth nerfs and content removals that you have to discover for yourself! - added a 30 day use it or lose it feature to all items in your vault. If you don't use it in 30 days it deletes itself, no more complaining about clutter! Stay safe out there guardians, also, be sure to contact your credit card issuers to increase the limit, the Christmas event is coming up quick!"

2 RepliesFreelance sucked completely. The match making is very unbalanced. I played 5 games and the best team mate I had at any point was a .9 kd. Playing 1.5-2.5 opponents stacked.
-
Yes the Freelance playlist did well, but the regular playlist was utter garbage the one thing Bungie did not want
-
I like it but at the same time, matchmaking needs to be improved. Throughout my matches, I felt like it's always lopsided. I kept going against people using the meta weapons /load-outs but my teammates were using nich weapon/load-outs to a point that it was not really a great experience.
-
2 RepliesGlad people like it. I certainly didn't. I stopped freelance and duo'd flawless after I had 11 wins and 11 losses with a 1.7 kd for the week. It hurt a little seeing a dude go flawless on my team that bot walked to middle with a bow and died every round, he didn't get a single kill. That's godlike rng he's gotten with teammates on his card lol. That was before flawless pool was enabled though, so freelance might be a bit more manageable on Sundays since it technically should be easier to 1v3 every round.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Rainstater: 10/26/2021 9:35:31 PMMy experience was pretty trash honestly. First round on the card was always against people on their 7th game and my teams just collapsed every single time. Best run I had was 3 games won in a row. The weekends previously playing solo I would get to around 5 wins before getting steamrolled by a way better team. This weekend sadly no such luck. The team cue was nothing but top tier players and solo cue my MM teams just sucked. I personally can’t carry a bad team and even though I tried my best I lost basically every game.

Agreed

1 ReplyIm going to disagree with this one. While I did go flawless that week, the road up there was rough. The matchmaking sucked for me. It felt like I am trying to carry 2 people. Nobody wanted to use team chat, and it all comes down to chance to see if you get good teammates who have some kind of situational awareness is a match. Freelance should be a once per month thing or just be scrapped entirely otherwise its going to end up like its older brother, Competitive. Going flawless should always have that satisfying feeling that you and your fireteam made it through blood, sweat, and tears, not feel like you just won the lottery.
-
I went in on Sunday or Monday, went to freelance and went flawless with only 1 loss (mercy card). It wasn't that difficult up until game 6, but luckily my teammates were able to cooperate and knew how to play tactically, last game we ended up winning because the other team didn't pop supers or else they would've easily won since none of us had one
-
I tried it last night and must agree. Not sure why, but lag is much less of a problem in this freelance mode and the result was good, competitive matches for hours on end. A vast improvement over the regular mode.

12 RepliesEdited by Tygichi: 10/26/2021 7:22:29 PMAs someone with a 1.4 kd not allowed into LFG teams because I had to be 2.0+ KD multiple flawlesses. Freelance is a God send. I also went flawless for the 1st time since coming back to D2.
-
6 RepliesFreelance is a great idea.... But... My experience was running into multiple "guilded flawless" players in the freelance queue who were blatantly kd farming and resetting. Guys with elo of 2000 or higher with literal hundreds of flawless. Pair that with the literal lottery of getting players in your team who are glorified bots then it becomes way harder. I went flawless every week except this week. This week felt the worst since it came back. Week 1 for me was best it's been. I've said this before on other threads. They need to take away the ability to reset cards. This will quickly eliminate the kd farming sweats from lurking around the playlist. Especially after the flawless pool has gone live. Or alternatively.... Add skill based matchmaking. Guys with elo of 500 should not find themselves in a lobby with a top 2 percent player with 2000+ elo. Like putting me in a ring with Mike Tyson and saying ok go fight.
-
I agree. It was obvious since the launch. It’s more fair and more fun.
-
I loved it, got to 5 wins, then to 6, then got to 7 wins on sunday night .... It might be the most fun I had in d2 pvp..
