I almost exclusively wield bows, since the moment I received No Turning Back from Petra in Forsaken.
Since that point, I have collected and painstakingly masterworked the Trinity Ghoul and Ticuu’s Divination exotics, matching the element to the subclasses I enjoy most per Guardian.
Ghoul on Thundercrash Titan.
Ticuu’s on Dawnblade Warlock.
… … … Hunter??
Le Monarque is amazing to use, matches well with the effects on the Voidblades Hunter. But, it underperforms when compared to it’s exotic cousins. No orbs. No kill tracker.
I think all exotics should have native kill tracking, but regardless, I hope this bow gets a Catalyst at some point soon.

5 RepliesSpeaking of catalyst. I’ve just completed the Lorentz driver catalyst. However, the description says that I don’t need a precision kill to activate the detonation. It’s not working for me. Since equipping the catalyst, I’ve been killing ads constantly (non precision kills) and didn’t see the detonation. I’m I doing something wrong? Thanks!

A Catalyst with Le Monarque plus cell builds would be awesome, I don’t think you’d have to disrupt again if Overload Bow is back by the time it gets a cat. Just more power on the void effect.
-
When Bungie put out a community poll we overwhelmingly voted for Lemon. A catalyst is probably in the works as we type.
-
Absolutely, it needs it. It's the best bow in PvP, yes.. But in pve not so much, I think the best thing for it would be to make it act like necrotic grips so it's poison can spread, shouldn't cause any huge problems in PvP that way and it wouldake it much better suited for add clear Or if not that then make the poison damage stack on multiple hits as in it increases the poison dosage which would make it better on single targets and as guardians don't really need to worry about being hit by 4 or 5 arrows that should be fine in PvP too
-
Archers tempo wouldn’t break it and still be good.
The real question is: Anti barrier on arbalest when?
I hate the idea behind catalysts. Feels like they now design exotics to be "okay" when released, then timegated until you can get their "missing piece" to make the weapon whole. That said, I think LM is alreqdy strong enough as it is, so a catalyst for it should be some sort of passive buff rather than something directly increasing its effectiveness in battle.
-
Sadly I don’t think it will ever have a catalyst Bc it’s just like thorn and wave splitter and any other extremely effective weapon in the game just a slight tug in any direction and will make it absolutely broken, case and point they have had a catalyst on the books for xenophage for a while now but they keep having to update it every season to try and land somewhere that is not busted in pve
-
I PRAY that the catalysts does absolutely nothing to the DoT or the sweet spot area to get DoT. I hate it so much in crucible lol. I'll see if I can think of anything that's not those things... 1.Targets that die while poisoned set off another poison aoe. 2. Drain the life force of those who are poisoned. 3. Snapshot and archer's tempo. Just to name a few possibilities.

2 RepliesLe monarch does NOT need a catalyst, it’s already toxic as 💩 in pvp.
-
I think a catalyst for le menarque should be for champions.
-
A bow main here too but it would have to be exclusively a pve catalyst because it's insanely strong rn.
-
I would actually rather get shot irl than fight a catalyst le monarque in trials

So the catalyst can't make it OP but, it can't make it bad either with a useless perk.

1 ReplyAfter Wish Ender, Malfeasance, Wavesplitter, and Last Word get their long awaited/ deserved catalysts, which will be never at this point.

But, it underperforms when compared to it’s exotic cousins. No orbs. No kill tracker.
Those are valid concerns but I think that saying it underperforms does it a disservice. It's by far the best of the bunch for Crucible, practically carried me to my first Flawless last weekend. When Overload Bow is around, as it is this season, it's also very viable for Master and GM content. As for what a potential Catalyst would give it, Archer's Tempo is the safe (but somewhat boring) choice. I think that Sympathetic Arsenal would be a nice addition to it. I'd never take it off if Archer's Gambit came back. That is, all assuming that it wouldn't get a bespoke perk, which seems to be more common on newer Catalysts.

7 RepliesThe catalyst should no longer require you to fire immediately after full draw to make the poison cloud. Increase the DoT damage by 1 Archers Tempo Any or all of these 👍
-
Yes please
-
2 RepliesI guess you could say that after you received the bow from Petra, there was No Turning Back. Yeahhhhhh

Edited by Zer0Warri0r: 9/24/2021 11:49:07 PMUnfortunately Bungie only uses catalysts as a way to buff exotics that are under preforming. In pvp if Le Monarque gets even the tiniest of buffs, it'll be broken and need a nerf. I really wish they used catalysts as a way to add depth to any exotic or just to add flavor to a current fan favorite, but no Bungie has stated they reserve catalysts for underperforming exotics while also forcing people to grind to make an exotic even viable. For example Trinity ghoul absolute garbage without the catalyst and would probably not have been released like that if there was any real playtesting. Now its really good, but only if you do a grocery list of BS to make it good. What a horrible dev philosophy to have for this game and is in my top 5 worst things about this game. If you dont believe me, you really should be reading the TWABs every week. I stop playing this game entirely for a year but still read them. Im paraphrasing here but I remember reading they use catalysts for the sole purpose to buff exotics and that they were looking for a way for exotics to generate orbs without one, so they no longer feel pressured by the community to make a catalyst for every single exotic. Which loops back to my point that using catalysts in this way is completely backwards game design.

8 RepliesI believe I speak for the entire community, when I sincerely proclaim that Le Monarque is already overpowered and should n e v e r receive a catalyst
-
I believed the same before, but have later realized its a poorly designed cheese weapon.
-
Hopefully when aimbot cheat for controller players in pvp against PC's gets removed... Never? ;P jk. But it's already sick, that bow against controller players, jeeez..
-
1 ReplyI see a lot of objections due to PvP. Kinda sucks.
-
I'm pretty sure there's a catalyst in the works for it right now, as stated in a previous TWAB. I'm expecting it to drop sometime this/next season
-
How about no.

1 ReplyLe monarque is strong already, most of gms and master lost sector, the only gun i have a breeze against all that overload Bullsh!t is Le monarque, i agree with a tracker, but the weapon performance is already top tier, annoying at the crucible and extremely efficient at end game pve activities.
