Some comments here good and well founded others arent really. The champions are designed to give another layer of challenge (im not a fan of how the champion mods are done but thats a separate issue), but yes match game for a raid is a complete dick move by bungie. Whenever they dont know how to make something harder or more interesting they slap on match game and it just ruins the experience. They shouldn't hammer us with negative modifiers either, thats just kinda crap. Have flying enemies do more damage actually makes templar a harder encounter than atheon. Thats just nuts.

Especially match game in an setting where weapon selection is already being restricted by the Champion mod system, and Sunsetting (certain weapon archtypes missing from the armory), and where player movement is being limited by the raid mechanics AND the lethality of the environment. At the end of the day, Destiny is a power-fantasy game. We are warrior-angels come back to Earth to kick the butt of supernatural evil. That does NOT fit in a combat environment where we are reduced to tissue paper, and are playing like riflemen hiding in a foxhole trying to survive an artillery barrage. There are games for that experience. But that experience does not FIT with the core identity...and core experience of Destiny (and other power-fantasy games).

I hate overlords cannot defeat them even with a sword they teleport champions all over place

The Minotaurs are fairly reasonable. Overload Captains are just BROKEN. They teleport so fast that they you literally cannot stun them with Overload-equipped SMGs or ARs. You can't land enough shots to trigger the effect, before they teleport again. Bad design. A mechanics that was either not well-considered....or sloppily implemented.

Yeah i was trying get exotic arms for the titan in tangled shore lost sector and i used exotic sword the overload Captain just teleported they healed back to full heal i tried run up and get him he gunned me down you just cannot kill them soon you get in striking range with a sword he teleport that's just over top hard dark souls would bend the knee to that insanity

Yeah, I've experienced that. I tried to play one of those lost sectors underleveled....and if you get more than about 10 power levels below recommended? The combat mechanics completely unravel. With the nerf to swords, it LITERALLY becomes impossible to kill the Overload Captains. They either teleport before you can do enough damage to stun them.....or they recover from being stunned before you can do enough damage to kill them as a solo player. Again.....poor design/sloppy implementation.

Edited by Grey Death Storm: 7/22/2021 11:40:45 AMAgreed at moment im 1331 light i was trying a 1310 lost sector. Dont get me wrong i understand champions are meant to be challenging but i find they are way over the top difficult and in the legendary lost sectors there is 2 different types and i only can realy prepare for one type of champion at a time so unless its a Pacific lost sector i just will not bother

Edited by TheArtist: 7/22/2021 11:45:21 AMYou're not being unreasonable. The problem is that the content is so poorly designed that its is extremely one-dimensional. There are only a handful of loadouts that can stun them....and only a few heavy weapons that can do enough burst damage to kill them in the window of time given. Add to that the fact that loadouts are LOCKED....and you have almost NO freedom in terms of what build you run or how you play. Which is why I avoid the lost sectors like a bad rash. Even the exotrics for my alt characters isn't enough incentive to get me to endure them. I got the ones for my Warlock main...and then got the hell out. It is not fun. It is tedious and tilting. I do not enjoy having my experienced DICTATED to me, and any chance to interact with the game creatively taken away from me.

Yeah i can relate the legendary lost sectors are not fun, theres been a few time i had stop myself throwing my controller through my tv quite literally
