"As a Warlock main I believe hunters are too over..", "Titans are F** broken" "Icarus dash needs a nerf" etc etc etc. We've all seen these similar statements across the board in pvp related talks around the forums and on reddit, I too used to be guilty of this type of behaviour too. But honestly lets be real guys we all who love PvP, want to see it in a better place at the end of the day. The one thing the PvP community isn't, as opposed to the PvE community, is "United"; we are only interested in talking about what interests us or our opinions, and the reality of it is that comments made with such personalized motives behind them will never gain enough traction to make Bungie push out those changes we need as a community. Its easier said than done, because as opposed to PvE their will always be winners at the expense of losers, resulting in people being toxic and salty.
We need to rally together for the sake of improving the current state of PvP for all of us, we need to get the ball rolling and support for changes that will benefit this community as a whole and not dish out personalized changes that are completely biased.
We need to rally for a better trials experience for everyone, a stronger crackdown for cheaters, more endgame PvP content aside from trials (ex. Comp playlist its been dead and not worth the grind ever since Not Forgotten was sunset) We need to rally for more maps, bringing back gamemodes such as rift. No matter how you slice it the PvP needs a lot more, too all the players that have played bungies classic Halo trilogy, the amount of gamemodes it had (Big team slayer, king of the hill etc.) We can complain about balance of classes and weapons till the cows come home, but to no avail. But what about the endgame? Why not anything worth running through the comp playlist for? if not pinnacle weapons, why not Comp playlist based armor? why not adept versions of Crucible themed weapons brought back? like they did with D1 weapons for Nightfalls? why not Adept weapons for Iron banner perhaps? why not a 6v6 or a 4v4 competitive type playlist, kinda like trails of the nine along with Trials of osiris? (can bring back the Trials of the nine weapons with random rolls and adept versions of them with some new armor or ornaments?)
We can always talk about balance of classes and guns but sadly we all know the pvp community is too toxic and biased when it comes to those. Perhaps we can push for a playlist that is designed to test future patch changes out, like Bungie did for a short amount of time? better matchmaking?
How about a crucial one such as not being able to change controller sensitivity for hip fire/ads/long scope/short scope separately? I honestly don't doubt that I will get some snarky stuck up toxic replies to this post regardless of what I have spoken, but honestly I just want the PvP experience to be better for all of us, not just me, not just for warlocks (that I actually do main) I want it to be for hunters and titans too, I want to see hunters maybe get bones of eao, radiant dance machines back, want to see titans have twilight garrison, helm of inmost light again, would love to see nothing manacles/voidfang vestments back etc.
So please I encourage anyone of this post to promote positivity for the whole PvP community and not just make cocky toxic comments pls. If you like of the suggestions or ideas I've thrown out for us, please comment below or if you have your own ideas, or would like to expand on any of the above, please comment and lets get this post noticed by Bungie hopefully!
Thanks for reading <3

YOU ARE AMAZING and I'm sure you are a breath of fresh air for Bungie! Thank you so much for being nice about voicing your opinion! This is one of the few posts (or just, strings of though, for that matter) that I've read and NOT felt angry about! Have a blessed day! And to be honest, I like where the meta is right now! I usually chalk up big defeats to bad team tactics on my part, or just mistakes I made in engagements, but I don't pay enough attention to metas to really know :p, but even if I disagree, I'm glad we can agree that we want the best for the community and players!

*sighs, sips coffee*

I think we can all agree on all of the things you mentioned. We certainly need some new maps, especially some bigger maps designed for 6v6 and long range play. We need some new modes for sure. They need to unvault all the maps that were removed. Separate ADS/hip-fire sensitivity. Iron Banner needs a complete rework, it's just a shell of what it was in D1. Comp needs unique loot to make it worth the effort, and maybe rotate some competitive game modes besides just survival. I can't think of any downsides to any of this.

21 RepliesNo what it needs is hunters to be nerfed and -blam!-ing handcannons to be nerfed and bungie to stop whacking off openly about thier obvious baised favoritism of both.

5 RepliesEdited by michael: 7/5/2021 11:34:43 PMThe problem is a lot of people express their opinions without much experience in PvP, and they give their "feedback" in a very tunnel visioned and ignorant manner. They just get spit on by something in a match and their knee jerk reaction is to complain about it without any sort of thought. For example yesterday someone made a post that said something like "if you use felwinters and jotunn... you are a NO SKILL PLAYER and dont deserve the kills that the game spoon feeds you" I went to his game history and cross checked it with the time of the post, turns out he lost an iron banner game and within 5 minutes he had come onto the forum to write up a complaint. This is not good feedback. This is useless. This is why the PvP community is not taken seriously. I would rather see someone write up a 1000 word thoroughly constructed analysis on why Bows are overtuned in PvP than see someone make a one sentence knee jerk complaint post about 120s or something that actually is widely seen as overpowered. If someone presents their argument in a well thought out way, I can at least respect their opinion and debate them point for point in a logical and constructive way even if I completely disagree with them. If someone is just whining to whine because they lost I just want to call them an idiot and go. This applies to feedback about literally anything in the game. I can totally accept and respect your opinion if you put in work to formulate it and present it. If your opinion is lazy and ignorant I wont respect it even if I agree. Everyone has their own opinion but they arent all created equal.

Just remove all perks and mods from gear in crucible. White gear all arounbd, no advantages in any way :) Fair and balanced.

2 RepliesOnly people that unify is content creators and streamers. That’s who bungie listens too.
-
God forbid they unify. All the hc, shotgun, snipers sweats dictating how bungie nerfs anything fun? Oh wait they already do that....
-
10 RepliesLol, it’s mainly the hunters that complain though. They’re so delusional that they think hunters somehow take skill and that everything else is op

1 ReplyEdited by name: 7/6/2021 5:26:56 PMthey should just add a special crucible with bots instead players as a option to do bounties and weeklys etc., if there was such option i would never play regular crucible again

2 RepliesAny class that kills me with something my class doesnt have is problematic to the games health and should be nerfed.

If people played more than just their main they’d actually see how the other classes are js

2 RepliesEdited by SolarCerberuS: 7/6/2021 12:13:09 AMUnity would be nice but human nature and history shows us repeatedly this will never happen. Too many players call for unwarranted nerfs because they fail to adjust their playstyle. Too many players want easy stomps. Too many players are self centered elitist @#$%ers. Too many players think their OPINIONS are facts. While the game has the peer to peer setup players will still falsely claim weapons shoot through walls when its merely latency. While players play over wifi you will have poor connections and teleporting players. While the game has freeloader pvp access cheating will remain rampant. And a game with cheaters cannot ever hope to have a reliable pvp experience let alone be unified. While these behaviors and other similar ones continue there cannot and will not be any chance of a unified pvp playerbase. A public test server would be a semi decent start. Removing free access to at least trials, Iron Banner and having a separate paying player pvp playlist will be another way to stabilise pvp somewhat. Give freeplayers a taste of pvp, a weekly rotating mode free access playlist. If they want the full experience have them pay for it

4 RepliesPvP is about making everyone hate each other as others ultimately play a hand at depriving you of whatever you're after. It's Trials' biggest offense to the player ecosystem, toxicity. Especially in its current iteration where it's drawn cheaters in from all over.
-
shouldn't hard to obtain unity with all 6 players
-
I would love to see this happen but theres too many scumbags and crybabies in the destiny community for it to be possible
-
I upvoted you because that was a well-written post and deserves to be upvoted, but the fact of the matter is that even though you're right, what you're proposing is never going to happen. The issue is that PvPers need unity, but they don't want unity. They need weapon balance but they don't want weapon balance, they want their one preferred loadout to be ridiculously overpowered and everything else to suck. They need class balance but they don't want class balance, they want their preferred subclass tree to be meta and everything else to be bad. They need fair and competitive games but they don't want fair and competitive games, they want their team to be stacked with no-lifes and matched against clueless blueberries every game. Because of this, as long as we have 30+ subclass tree options and zillions of weapons in the game, PvP will never be in a state the playerbase as a whole says is good. And we're going to keep getting "X is OP" and "wtf nerf Y" threads until the end of eternity, because the average PvPer is far more concerned about what benefits them specifically than what would benefit the game as a whole and make Crucible as a whole a better place to be for the entire playerbase.

2 RepliesI actually find that, for the most part, the people who would refer to themselves as "PvP players" generally agree on most things at a foundational level. They just have different ways of explaining what they think and with Destiny it can sometimes be hard to completely explain what you're thinking. I honestly don't find silly back and forth about the way weapons work or what class people use to be "toxic." I just think there's an underlying sense of exasperation that people who play often have when it comes to some things and that exasperation can manifest itself in not so constructive ways. But in many ways that exasperation is warranted. The "not so constructive" part is the part that may need some working on. Other than that, I really don't see many problems with the people who refer to themselves as PvP players.

5 RepliesPvP has always been a competition, but the next changes to be made in the game will further divide the community given the nature of the restrictions that will be applied.
-
No, pvp on destiny is tied to a looter shooter. There should be no endgame mode as trials is dead and full of cheaters, try hards and paid carries. There should be 2 modes arcade mode with no stat tracking and iron banner for the endgame, that is it. You can not have any resemble of balance in a looter shooter if pvp is attached. Only time yo u can have it different is if the sandboxes are separate, but that aint gunna happen.
-
Impossible. Due to human nature. Too many differing opinions even though they're clearly wrong and people's tendency to exploit the ever living shit out of the most broken or meta thing currently in game.

Edited by Truce: 7/6/2021 11:26:41 AMhttps://youtu.be/n7eJRYM6Fjk nomad makes a lot of good similar points

I understand you want the community to be United but it won't. Too many people want different things. This game as a hybrid model? It will never double down on any one aspect that it covers. People want X while others want y and the rest want z. You can't even get a lot of players to agree on basic fundamental aspects of what makes a game good. You can't even get people to sit down and agree on what is destiny's identity. It's a tough road and I wish you Godspeed. Many just pick up and move on because this game has changed so many times, those who want to remain loyal to it just feel dissociated. Good luck
-
I feel you. I do. I want unity too. But there is too many differences as of now. Even ascendant nomad is acknowledging the state of the pvp community as...well...bad. I hope we can change as a collective.
-
7 RepliesThe only way you're going to get unity in PvP is if we somehow manage to un-blam!- years of content and balance PvP so that Trials is enjoyable for everyone and there can be real competition.
