When will this community be better to one another? Had a clan mate put up an lfg for trials. He had a 6 wins, mercy granted card. So 1 win for flawless. Two guys joined who had apparently been flawless 200+ times each. They jumped off the map and quit then sent him a message that said “good luck going flawless”
See posts all the time for raid lfg’s being toxic as well. I don’t ever put up a requirement when I put an lfg up but I do understand why some do. And I simply avoid them. Not a hard concept. Don’t join if you’re not intending to help achieve whatever the lfg is looking for.
But why join just to ruin the guys chance. Or join a raid and yell at others who are newer to it. Most posts are pretty specific. If you see one that says chill.. probably leave the ego in orbit.
I play a lot of games and the destiny community may be the worst in terms of LFG. (That I have personally seen) I assume we all play to have fun and escape the real world for a bit but I think a specific gaming community should be more willing to help those in said community than to be so full of them selves to go out of their way to bring others down.
I can predict how the responses will go but I hope there’s more good guardians out there than toxic ones.

Never had experiences like that yet, but I was never keen on lfging for raids/trials in the first place because of unpredictabilities like that.

4 RepliesWe need Divinity to beat Taniks guys, if none of you have it I would ask one of you to leave so we can inv somebody who has it (guardian leaves the team, eye rolls and laughs at that guy cause guardian beat DsC over 20 times with just well of radiance/shadow shot before adquiring Divinity...)

6 RepliesNot sure why your friend had a card with six wins and one loss, did his previous team leave him?
-
6 RepliesThis community is rotten to the core. From players, to streamers/YouTubers, to community managers and the lead devs. Why do you think DeeJ left?

2 RepliesEdited by Hawpy: 6/23/2021 12:54:47 AMPersonally, I think that everything even tangentially related to Trials should be taken with a large pinch of salt. To say that the game mode is riddled with problems and the very worst of the worst people is a gross understatement. For Raids, I've spent enough time on LFG to know what words and language to look out for and what to avoid. Unless I want to do something specific i.e. a Triumph, I'll join a post whose wording looks right to me rather than making my own. The most annoying offense is people who ask for a higher light level than the requirement of the activity, as if it makes any difference whatsoever; it actually shows that they don't understand how the level system works, yet are asking for players that they deem to be experienced. Posts that say "checking clears" or "have emblem" are an instant red flag because we all know the type of player who will be hosting it. On the flipside, posts with funny titles or those asking for help are likely to be hosted by nicer people. I met some great people on Crown of Sorrow through a post that called it Hat of Sadness. I realise that this is basically a monologue about my own LFG experiences, so my apologies for that, but my bottom line is that you can usually make a pretty good judgment as to how the group will be, based on the title of the post. Particular words are said by a type of player and will attract others like them.

Sunset LFG. Sunset Trials. Sunset Seasons. Sunset Humanity.

My dude don’t get me wrong and I totally agree although a forum on this app goin to do crap, people are just stupid and that’s the way it is.

10 RepliesThis is a completely fabricated story. You’ve never been on 6 wins on a card, you’ve never had two people join up and “jump off the map” You’ve managed 3 wins at best and only had one team mate unable to get a kill which you willingly played multiple games with.

According to these pages, this is the best community ever. I still haven’t cleaned the yellow puddles from my undies from laughing so hard.
-
Sorry to hear your friend had that happen. Bungie should be more strict with stuff like this and actually start issuing warnings, bans, etc. It's just not alright.
-
That's just dealing with the public, unfortunately. Sorry your friend had that happen. Every person has struggles. Life's too hard not to be kind.

Tbh I hate posts like this one. All it does is turning people away from lfg. In my experience toxic people are a small minority in lfg. Most people are chill and helping.

5 RepliesThat trials example is pretty funny. I had never thought of ppl doing that. Because clearly you would check ppl stats before adding them for trials etc A similar pve example would be booting ppl just before the chest of any given end game activity. That was a classic in D1 and whilst I never did it to anyone that didn't deserve it, I saw it happen a bunch. Me personally, my favourite was to titan bubble just before teammates were getting ready to gally. Back then it was shocking how many ppl didn't jumping before firing rockets... Quite harmless really as we still got it done, just a bit of fun.

5 RepliesPerspective is pretty key with things like this, like why did the rest of his fireteam ditch him at 6 wins?

If you are on PS and need a raid group. HMU. We are all of the “older” generation 30+ and raid frequently and in a humble manner

Edited by Mr Gnat: 6/23/2021 5:18:32 PMYeah. That’s tough.

I've lost track on how many post like this I've seen... People are going to be people. Unfortunately too many people call things toxic if it doesnt specifically benefit them.
-
Used to be a lfg....there's so many different type of people's The 1 that lies that say he knows what to do but clearly got carried 10 times The super toxic that's anoyed and leave after 1 wipe The guy that doesn't seem to care if we hear is whole familly,a tv, the radio and whatever festival is happening in the streets The team that does recovery and need someone else to complete their order(that led to interesting conversation and now I know more about how it works....still 100% against it) The group that kick people's before loot But despise all that I had good times in LFG some people's were great and interesting ,some people's just wanted it done It's a mix of everything ....and like destiny...it's am about your RNG

LFG’s got some good people, and just as many if not more braindead idiots who live sad lives and take out their frustrations on people in a video game

5 RepliesAgain imagine not having Matchmaking in a Co-Op Game. --
this is the same company who said GM nightfalls should be WATCHABLE

same company who has ignored LFCarry.com for years despite the amount of toxicity
It's almost as if they want to profit of the idea of Elitist Crowds who want content gated

Never happened.

I can relate. Back in early Prestige Leviathan days I joined a LFG post and helped get the unaccomplished team through. Right after we dealt the final damage the leader left the chat then booted everyone. Scummiest thing I’ve ever seen. Felt bad for the other players trying to get it done for the first time.

I used to love running people through the Shattered Throne, but since Bungie keeps hitting me over the head with baboons recently, I'm not about to risk getting disconnected midway through a teaching run. Plus, I'm pretty sure all Dreaming City content is getting vaulted with Witch Queen's release, so...

Human nature is a complex bish....... Path of least resistance means you're going to come into contact with a lot of self centered "people". Be the change you want to see and influence that where you can and you might just make a nicer bubble in the community. Some people just don't have the time / patience for others and that's something I've accepted from being in this community. However within 5-10mins of a voice chat I can usually tell if I'm dealing with annoyances or worthwhiles......90% of the time I'm dealing with both.

Game should have a -blam!- you mechanic for people like that the more you do it the more of your stuff it deletes also difficulty for stuff should retroactively increase for douches
