Please remove guardian kills from the Cryo sidearm quest
It's such a god awful sidearm that literally anything else in the game performs better in pvp. You want some trash that does nothing at more than 5m? Not the gun.
Sure, the perk is cool, but who cares when you can't ever proc it by only using the sidearm itself because of how fvcking awful the meta is. Shotguns are still monkey sh1tters everywhere, Bastion one taps from 20m, and the lag on these godawful servers also makes it impossible to land headshots.
Skipping this dogarse catalyst until mayhem so I can tether you -blam!- to try to get a kill. Awful weapon.

then i ask a rework for the gun, make it a pve gun and not a pvp gun

It’s a PvE and a PvP mixed game. Also get to rank 22 on your season pass and it’s like 13-14 kills total. Takes 1 or two games depending on the map and your playstyle. It isn’t bad at all.

I got the crucible part done , now time for the 700 elemental kills to finish it , then I will throw it in my vault and wait for it to get a buff

Horrible solo player, that avoids most end game content & loathes PVP. Anywho, I only run a hunter so, seasonal catalyst boost, mechaneer's tricksleeves & all the sidearm mods. Easy breezy. Now time for some warm milk & a nap.

2 RepliesYesterday I saw the thread title and thought "ugh, another complainer." Today, having used Cryosthesia, you were right and I was wrong. This is possibly the worst gun I've ever used in Crucible. They expect us to get kills with a point-blank peashooter when the shotgun-slide meta has never been more dominant.

7 RepliesBungie need to just stop forcing ANY game mode on ANYBODY for any reason I’m sure pvp only, e-sport and clan war types absolutely HATE coming into strike playlist to kill 200 cabal with melee just as much as I, 1. Hate them being in my strike too, and 2. Hate going into pvp or gambit to do some nonsense in those game modes Every weapon, every shader, every ship, quest, challenge and masterwork should all be optional on HOW it’s completed Just make it so it’s like 50 guardian kills/ 5 primeval summons/ 500 combatants etc - just whatever numbers are balanced and everyone’s happy, only playing the game modes they actually like! I really don’t care for pvp on destiny, but I’ve been forced to do it since D1 Day1 just to masterwork a gun I got for PvE

5 RepliesGive people multiple choices as with other exotics in the game. If people enjoy killing guardians, fine let them grind and sweat it out to get the EXACT same loot as the rest of us. But i prefer the PVE route! I want my Ticcus Divination catalyst, i can do the grind, but i sure h3ll won't jump around in a Player vs Player grindsfest and catalyst gvngbvng! Just to please some influencer or noghead that need his or hers views to survive!

3 RepliesGuys, I'm 60 and would say an average PVP player, I managed the 50 kills in 3 games of Control - you get 'kills counted' for assists - so stay back and blast away. It's no different from when we were chasing Thorn in D1/D2 you had to get 'void' kills - so stop 'crying to mummy' and get on with it.

It is not difficult. Get to rank 22 in the pass to unlock a perk that quadruples progress, you will get it done in only a few matches

It’s just not that hard. It’s an FPS that tells you where everyone is at all times via radar. Just backpedal.

I agree the gun is total garbage, but the quest it very doable. Just have to make a temporary change to your play style to get I. There and get it over with so you can be rewarded with a catalyst for a gun that you’ll never use.

With the season pass boost that gives 4×, you need like 13 kills.

Don't we already have a topic like this?: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/258907557?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 But regardless this needs to be done, as well they need to fix the Boosters from the Season Pass (Or) Buff the Data Collection part of the quest, as it is FAR to slow.

I understand needing to use the weapon and get kills as a step for the quest. Totally makes sense. But, what they should have done was make it something like acquire data through kills with the weapon, bonus progress for killing guardians.. Why is it we have so many bounties that use this way of progression but not quests? As soon as I started using it the weapon didn't feel good, after getting all the kills in crucible and PvE, it still doesn't feel good. The fire rate is too low, the handling feels slow, the sights are cluttered with different colored glowing lines, the exotic perk is terrible in PvE aside from using it to freeze a champion for all of 2 seconds, and feels weak compared to almost every other sidearm. It just doesn't feel good to use and I think that's because Bungie balanced it for PvP. Don't get me wrong, I would hate for stasis weapons to be meta along with the stasis subclass, but the exotic perk doesn't do much in PvE aside from trading your entire mag of ammo to freeze 1 enemy. In PvP you can't proc it enough for it to even be a problem anyway, especially next to subclasses that can all freeze in multiple different ways without a kill first requirement.

The step involves RNG matchmaking. When you get the right mix of players the kills come really fast. For my final match on this step I had 50% headshots. We won with only 5 players because one player left early. Imagine my surprise when the leaderboard showed I was at the top of my team with 2.29 Combat Efficiency. Interestingly, I captured 8 zones and so did the bottom player. None of the other 3 players between us captured any zones. Not only was I the top player on my team, I did exactly what you are supposed to do in Control -- capture the zones!

As a side arm user for couple of years I’ve actually enjoyed playing against side arms for a change. I done mine in 4 games, just getting 1 shot on them also counts. Drang beats it hands down for range and stability and rampage

fun fact, the catalyst itself is bugged and can only be completed via crucible kills. this is not a joke, nor troll post, i even tried putting a forum post up myself in the help section and got one response about the quest itself.
