Hey I thought of an easy fix for trials by only changing the passages. Sounds crazy, I know, but hear me out. Start by getting rid of the Passage of Wisdom, then add these 3 new passages.
1. Passage of Pity
Doesn't count losses at the cost of never being able to get the Flawless reward. So as long as you can get 3/5/7 wins you can get the reward. This will incentivize more casual players who can't get to 3 wins easily to give Trials a shot.
2. Passage of Haste (requires 7 win completion)
Starts with 2 wins on the card. So you only need 5 to get flawless. This will incentivize people who have already proven that they're good enough to get 7 wins to get out of the matchmaking for the noobs at 0-1 wins.
3. Passage of Ascendence (requires Flawless Passage of Confidence completion)
Rewards one of the 3/5/7/Flawless rewards at random after each win, but card matchmaking is set to always consider you as if you were at 6 wins. This will incentivize people who have proven themselves capable of consistently going flawless to only matchmake with similar people, or people at the end of their card.
So that's it. Fairly easy to implement and would go a long way to making a more healthy competitive environment. Let me know what you guys think.

2 RepliesThis makes it so there is a lot more easy top tier loot for good players, that doesn’t fix anything, sorry.

1 ReplyPeople that stat farm or flawless farm are going to regardless of cards. Iv run into countless people with double digit flawless cards for the week. Making those flawless runs easier will do nothing to deter them. The only good idea that iv heard that might move trials in a better direction would be a separate matchmaking pool for those who have been flawless that week. The only reason bungie won’t is because the only people who still play trials don’t want to work harder.

I think Passage of Pity would work as a 7 wins/7 losses card rather than ignoring losses entirely.

4 RepliesHere's some passages ideas to add: Passage of the Blueberry: Rewards Rare items for losing. Passage of the Lazy: Rewards a Shader for jumping off a cliff. Passage of the Crybaby: Rewards a visit from Larry the Messed up Clown. 🤡 I like those ones 😁.

I've been saying "passage of pity" should be a thing for a while now. Would also protect against cheaters/booters/recoves.

3 RepliesHmmmm.......I want to be brutal and blunt here but I'll be blunt and as polite as I can........ Your idea fails because it just perpetuates the problems......while simultaneously rigging the player pool to isolate 1 group. Trials needs work sure. But unfortunately changing the cards won't fix it.

1 ReplySounds fair, although rather than the passage of Pity denying all losses, I think it should just allow for more on a card, 5 perhaps? So it makes it easier for worse players, but still is somewhat competitive. Trials shouldn't reward solely time investment imo.

First one is good, the rest are not

Getting past the easiest games isn’t really something most people would do. I think everyone would choose ferocity over this [quote]3. If people complain about not getting three wins now, I don’t think they’ll like it when a card is specifically made to gatekeep.
